Eden Musee and Cut throat cove.

An update on Eden Musee. Last week I was not impressed. I went in again yesterday and it was much better. Last week they had lights on in the first part, yeasterday it was dark as it should be. The screamsters were more active too. A big improvement.

Is the ship at the entrance to Cut Throat Cove the original from Pirate Ride or is it just a replica? The actual ride was gone before my time but it would be something cool to point out to my parents, who have fond memories of it.

It is a replica built from the original plans. In addition, there were things incorporated to the ship from the original plans that were not on the original ship that was built. I couldn't tell you what those things are. But, that's what John said.

i think john said things like the detailing in between the windows the little sculptures and the lights that were not on the original.

I think they should have painted it in the original colors. And it's a shame they couldn't replicate the whole mast and put a big "CUT THROAT COVE" sail on it. They built about half of the mast, including the crow's nest, and set it nearby, but because of the location it had to be built not to interfere with Maverick's reach envelope.

I really wish Halloweekends would go the extra factor in some of the houses. Go beyond the PG-13 rating. I was kind of disappointed about some of the zones and houses.

By beyond PG-13, do you mean in the gore factor? Because nothing is cheesier than poorly done gore, and I have yet to see a haunted house (including the houses at Universal) do gore right.

Yes, but even beyond that. I think some of the houses need to add more claustrophobic elements. Just popping out from the dark only goes so far, in my opinion.

I really liked Eden Musee. I just went in it last night and I really enjoyed it. The fact that the mannequins are really easy to tell apart from the screamsters was kind of a buzzkill though. One thing i did really like about it was the strobed storage room (I dont really know what to call it). The only thing that i was kind of disappointed by from that was that there only appeared to be one live character in that room. I definitely feel like they could have made it scarier.

I was also pleased with Cutthroat Cove. I was pleasantly surprised by how long it actually was and i enjoyed the placement of some of the new props. The maverick area added some affect to the theme even though it wasnt as perfect as being on an island like with last year. Overall they were both pretty good but the scare factor was a little low.

Sadly, I didn't do either of them on Friday but riding Maverick with CTC under it was awesome. The whole ride was covered in fog, to a point that I couldn't see the seat in front of me. Maverick has always been worth the wait but combining riding it at night and all the fog, it made it the best ride I've had on it.

Why doesn't the park go scarier than PG-13? People have said kings island's haunts are alot scarier than CP's, by a long shot. I have yet to venture there for halloween, but I heard they even have one where it's rated R and only allows adults to go in.

I love CP's haunts, as they do a great job with theme and props. The makeup is amazing. But....I want to be scared a little more. I agree with the claustrophobic areas, they should add more areas. Sometimes when I go through, I find myself just looking at the props and wandering in the dark, rather than feeling the suspense of something coming at me/ about to come at me.

I think there needs to be more Screamsters for the outdoor zones.

What if they just let them scream obscenities rather than shake those annoying rattles?

I agree. Knott's is doing a new haunt this year that you have to pay for and sign a waiver. From what I've heard it's really good. I think a haunt that you have to pay for and sign a waiver for, would go beyond PG-13

I have to venture to other haunted attractions before I can really judge Cedar Point's. I just feel that the overall attraction is blinding ellipsoidal lights with a mix of fog and "actors" in cheesy makeup jumping out at you.

On it's third weekend I have to say that Eden Musee has improved to the point were it is as good as any of the indoor haunts at CP. They keep refining their act and vary parts of it from day to day. There is alot of screaming going on in there. The doorman/barker is very good and has been since day one. Due to a relatively short line i made quite a few visits and enjoyed them all.

Cut throat Cove continues to improve too. I love the giant snake near the end.

Or at least have one haunt where the screamsters can grab you. I went in a haunted house close to where I live, you had to sign a waiver to go in and they monsters would grab you and try to pull you away from your group. It was a lot scarier than HW.

I would never work a haunt that allows the workers to grab guests. The risk of you grabbing the wrong person and the rest of their group going after you is too high to even make me think that would be a good idea.
