the soups/sandwiches at Mr. Smith's are amazingly delicious...and of course there is a huge array of speciality coffee drinks to choose from. They have very limited hours and typically close at 3pm (hopefully soon changing seasonally to expand hours for transient tourist business). Lunch time is a perfect time to check them out.
They always update their daily menus on Facebook, too.

Top 10 Sandusky Area Restaurants (although I have to question a candy shop and ice cream factory being on the list)

Uh, and numbers 3, 4, & 5 are in Toledo, not really Sandusky area...
Not sure if anyone has mentioned these places at all but a couple great restaurants in Sandusky that are not on that top 10 list are Friendly's and The Thirsty Pony.
Friendly's is on Rt 250 just south of 250 and the Thirsty Pony is right there on the corner of the Causeway and Cleveland Rd.
GO IRISH!!
