Me and my sis are planning a trip to Cedar point May 27th-28th. I was wondering if anyone could help us with some easy directions. We live down river in Michigan. I know you jump on 75 but where do we go from there? If all fails we will use mapquest. But we get lost VERY easily, so I was just wondering if anybody could help us out with some quick simple directions. We would deeply appreciate it. :)

I live downriver as well. You go south on I-75, take I-280 (if you are going Monday-Thursday this route won't be open, you will need to take the turnpike I-80/90.. I will explain that later).
Take I-280 to route 2, the exit ramp will be on your right, turn left and take that all the way to route 6, there will be signs to Cedar Point on route 2. (That's the way I go).
Going I-80/90 you will need to take the turnpike towards Cleveland, I don't know if it's marked as Cedar Point. Take that to exit I-53, last time I took this route the cost to take the turnpike was $1.25, so it isn't too bad. Take 53 to route 2 west and you will find your way to route 6.
Once you take these roads a bit, it's fairly easy to find your way.
I hope that was helpful.
Previous post from "ladyjerrico" is not very clear with regards for using the Ohio Turnpike, as this will add significant time and mileage if you follow it.
IF you are taking The Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) from Toledo, you will take it East towards Cleveland to Exit 110 (State Route 4.... Sandusky/Bellevue).
at the end of the exit ramp, you will turn left, and go North on Route 4.
About 4 miles north of the Turnpike, you will come to State Route 2. You can take Route 2 East, or you can continue on Route 4 into Sandusky. Both routes have signs directing you to Cedar Point.

^If you go this route (or even if you take route 2) you should get on Route 4 in Sandusky. Instead of hitting the strip with all the traffic and lights, route 4 takes you into Sandusky and then bends when it gets to Lake Eire (litterally.) Eventually it meets up with the causeway right by the off Point employee dorms. Also at the end of the day, its a great way to beat traffic, because once you take that right at the light, there is no traffic.
The time/distance cost is nowhere near significant.
I just used DJ's map, and dragged from the TP over to 2.
TP -> 106 miles, 1 hour 53 minutes
2 -> 101 miles, 1 hour 59 minutes
Insignificant, and safer for a nominal fee (2 bucks, if that). Not to mention, if you need to stop for an emergency, there are 2 travel plaza's plus you're on a fairly well lit, well patrolled road.

Well, that's just the way I go because I'm familiar with the roads pretty much and how to get there, yes Route 4 is a more direct route, I go through Sandusky because I get turned around easily when I get near Cedar Point.
I can relate to you on getting lost easily and wanting an easy route. If you want an easy route with the fewest possible turns this is what I would recommend.
Take I-75 south to 80/90 (Ohio Turnpike)
Get on East 80/90
Get off at exit 118 (route 250 - you will be charged $2.25 at this point)
Follow the signs that say Cedar Point this way!
This route will take a little bit more time than some of the other suggestions and does have you going thru the busy 250 strip but in my opinion (others will dissagree) it is the most simple route.

Actually the Route 4 route is not hard to travel either. You have four turns to make, the first is a left off of the turnpike exit ramp onto Route 4 (Cedar Point sign leads the way) and then once you get into town you will come to a triangle green space, there are signs, you take a left and then an immediate right at the next light. Then the road curves (on its own) to the east to follow the lake shore. Then your final turn is a left at the light by the CP dorms onto the causeway (again there is signs.)
Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going to let my sis look at them too and then we will pick one. Wish us luck on not getting lost :) lol.

I don't think this ever was explained, but you will not have a problem traveling this route reguardless of what day it is this summer. All the work on the 280 bridge is done, and the only work happening on 280 is a couple of mile south of the Rt. 2 exit.

When I asked about the I-280 construction on a previous post, someone told me I would have trouble on that route on Monday through Thursday. So it's open up to route 2?
I just want to make sure so I can skip the turnpike.. thanks :)
Yep, there's nothing going on on 280 anymore, it's wide open. On 75 from the Michigan line until you get to 280 has a lane closure, but nothing that's going to make traffic nasty.
