Earnings question

Question for previous employees:
After housing has been deducted from your paycheck and you have paid for meals everyday, about how much money did you end up making at the end of the summer?

Depends on if you went to Louie's every night. And those damn dippin' dots are pretty expensive, too. I went hope with a measly $42 to my name...LOL

I'm too sexy for my harness!

It sounds like working there is more for the experience than the money

It really depends on how well you save your money. Obviously, if you go out to the bars every night that's going to take a significant chunk of your paycheck. Generally, after housing and taxes I would make anywhere from $650-$700 per check during the full season every two weeks. Mind you, I worked in rides (we have a significant amount of hours compared to other departments) and I always asked for the longest shifts, or to work later / through my splits.

I worked in ride photo and I left with over 2000 last summer. I only bought food and occasionally I spent money on extra stuff like clothes or Merchandise. I also had some unforeseen expenses such as I had to buy a new phone but all and all it's really how you budget your money.

Enjoy the rest of your day here at Cedar Point, America's rock'n roller coast, Ride On!

It really surprised me how many of my coworkers chose not to take advantage of the BIG benefit of working at the Roller Coast - park access!
Even if you only ride three rides a day or spend an hour in the wave pool, that's at least $30 a day! Every day! All summer!!!
At the beginning of the season I was sure I would not be getting on Windseeker, Power Tower, or Millennium Force at all. It took a week or two of grooving on Sky Ride, Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster before I decided to try Windseeker. After that I rode daily, weather permitting. Soon Power Tower and MF were also daily adventures.
I miss my adrenaline rushes so bad!
If you're only going for the money - get a server job at one of the restaurants. That's where the cash is.

I was a money savor in 2011. I packed a small lunch everyday. Whether it be the favorite Ramon, Mac and cheese, or a PB&J sandwich. If you keep eating Café food, it will add up fast! I only eat at the café food if it was Nacho Macho day (BEST DAY OF THE WEEK!) and they actually fill up your plate. I didn't have to pay a lot of gas for my car since I always rode the bus or with a friend to work. The bus also offers rides to Target/the mall. Then comes the snacks and Alcohol... that's your decision haha.

They also offer extra hours if you want. During some of my splits I asked Brian if any other rides need help. If not, most of the time they will ask if you want to sweep.

I generally had about 60 hours or so more during the beginning and the end of the season. I worked at a Early Entry ride and came out with between $700-800 on average. My highest I actually walked away with $900. I always asked to work through my splits and such. There was only a few days I didn't ask to work through them. After buying food and late night Wal-mart trips (good times... good times...)I maybe had about half or more of my paycheck left. Which I thought was pretty decent. Though I spent allot of money before I left on gifts for family and myself... ALLOT for myself.. oops. I left at the end of August when my contract was up and maybe had almost $3,000 in my account. If this helps you any. It really depends on how good you can save your money. It is possibly to walk out with allot and there is a chance you walk out with only a little. Depends on how many hours you work which can vary by department.

You really need to teach me how you did that. The most successful I've been was walking away with about $700, which was then blown on textbooks. Ugh.

Does CP offer direct deposits? I use direct deposits at my current job now. That really helps me save and not spend since I don't even really see the money :)
