Hi! I was wondering what the early entry crowds were like in May, preferably on a Friday and Saturday (we're going the 17th and 18th). This is our first time staying at one of the resorts so we haven't done the early entry before. I figured it won't be that busy, especially since it's still early in the season, the kids are in school and it's not summer. But I was just curious what to expect and how long we'll be in line during the early entry time. Thank you!!
the kids may still be in school, but expect busloads of them, but they won't be involved in 'early entry'.

Thanks!! Have any idea what the lines are like during early entry? If it seems pretty busy during those two days (which I know it'll be on Saturday. That's when we've gone the past two years) we'll get the fast pass.

I suspect the early entry lines will be pretty non-existent that time of year.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Thanks Ralph! I figured it would probably be pretty empty or at least not too busy but wasn't sure. I just wanted an idea of what to expect then when we go. Thanks! :)

GateKeeper,MF,Raptor,Maverick,Iron Dragon are listed as some of the 'early entry' rides.I would guess that the 'early enterers' will all be lined up at Gatekeeper, which will free up MF and Maverick.
As more and more people aquire Platinum passes, early entry crowds have been increasing over the years.
TTD isn't listed, but it'll probably be up and running
Expect the worst, that way you won't be dissappointed, and hope for the best.

Ok, thank you Dennis! I figured it won't be super, super busy during early entry though. And I was thinking that about Gatekeeper too, that a lot of people will go to that and free up Millennium Force and Maverick a little. I'm hoping to get front row on MF, go to Gatekeeper and hope the line's not too long, then go to Maverick. After that if the hour's almost up go wait in line for Dragster. Thanks for the info!

They open up after each train completes a circuit or two. The better the weather, the quicker it opens. Early may, don't expect it to open before park opening or even after. However, that doesn't mean avoid it. The earlier in the year, the higher chance at rollback for the first ride! The better the day, lower odds tho ;)
We stay at the Breakers during this weekend almost every year and check in that morning - one year we got in the park about 9:40 got a ride in on Raptor and then back in line and up to the platform as the main crowd entered the park.
Another time we tried for Millenium- but be warned it seems they don't start testing it until 9, so the ride doesn't open for awhile later- you could end up wasting time
Good Luck and have a fun trip!
You shouldn't need fast lane passes coming that early in the year, especially in May as lines tend to be very short. It will be crowded Memorial Day Weekend though. I usually hit maverick and then Millennium Force at early entry and then run over to raptor and get off right when the main gate opens for all guests. You should have no problem riding these early because Gatekeeper will be the hotspot in the park.

When we go the second weekend CP is open they always do that student day where you get like $15 off your admission if you're a student so it seems to be kinda busy on that day. The first year we went to CP was in 2011 and the lines were and hour and a half or more. Somehow we only got on 4 or 5 coasters that day (getting on Millennium twice). And last year when we went on the same weekend it was kinda crowded (but I'm sure that's hardly anything compared to July) so we got the fast pass for that day. I just figured we'd need it on that Saturday since it's decently busy with the student ID day and there being a lot of students there. Plus I don't want to wait an hour and a half or more. I'm too impatient! I want to get on my coasters as quickly as I can. haha :P I don't know about Friday because I hear it can be kinda busy with it being the weekend and all plus with the kids being there for Physics week (but it might not be too bad since they'll be doing projects and stuff). I'm just preparing myself in case it is a little busy and somewhat long lines. I'm sure we'll get fast pass on Saturday if anything. Plus with Gatekeeper being new and I'm sure the lines will be pretty long, having the fast pass will cut it down some. It was a lot of fun having the fast pass and being able to ride the coasters a lot. Plus you don't feel as rushed to go from coaster to coaster. You can take more breaks and rest. But thanks for the info, chris9ty and BCTheGateKeeper!
