Dwarfed :'(

Some kids like the coastrs. My cousin is 7 and he rode MF more times then I have! But most kids are scared of those "mommy and daddy" rides.

You speek of families coming with kiddies, thought some are not just kiddies, but teens also. That are not scared to ride bigger and better coasters, so there would still be a somewhat long line.
Well, I dare say that I have 3 kiddies. Only one of which is not tall enough to ride the "biggin's" yet. They are 9, 7, &3. They enjoy the kiddie rides quite a bit. But, they like the "biggin's", too. My 3 year old may very well be tall enough to ride the 48"ers in a couple years. WOW! That means more money for passes each year. Dang!

There are 4 kids in my family and I am the oldest (I'm 15, next is 11, next is 9, last is 3) and when we go to parks we have to have "family time" and we all have to go on Peanuts Express and eat at Macaroni's instead of Transport Refreshments. I don't usually get to go on many coasters unless I do some SERIOUS begging. But then again I'm an enthusiast and the GP seriously think it can wait, and a lot of teens do get scared of coasters.

Im 14 and I rode every coaster at CP, SF ohio, SF kentucky, PKI, and kennywood(and a few more). I didn't ride my 1st coaster till I was about 10. Since then its hard to get off those awesome rides. What does fear feel like?(JK) just kidding...

It says somewhere on cedarpoint.com that Top Thrill Dragster is going to dwarf Millennium Force. I think it is on a video or the facts page. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

New For 2003 Top Thrill Dragster Tallest Coaster Ever!!

Yeah. It said that on some video. It may dwarf Millie, but I think Millie will still be the best ride.

Tallest coaster in the park you mean, right? Because it was never the tallest ride in the park.

Um.....I didn't mean either of what you both just said.

No, TTD has a good point. How do you know that you will not like TTD better? Really, have you ridden it? I hear somebody at coasterbuzz named DragsterRox2 was allowed on it and he said the Incredible Hulk was better. (I'd put out a link, but it got deleted)

No TTD does not have a good point Peter Soint because I never said "I like Millennium Force better than Top Thrill Dragster and always will". Is that what you thought I ment? Maybe I will like it better or maybe I wont? It was just an opinion anyway!

Would you have liked it better if I would have said "Dwarfed or not, Millennium Force will still be on Top (But this will not be known until May 4th 2003);)?

Hey guys calm down!
I also agree with 99er. Though TTD may be the greatest to somenew comers, I will always like Millennium just as much as I do know. Though TTD, I may like as much.
And about someone already riding TTD, I'm not so sure about. They don't even have all the trains, or even all of one train. Or did you not read TTD's construction diary's?

99er long time no see!!!

Everyone had to know that someday Millennium Force would be dwarfed.....even though TTD is taller, millennium force is still mine and may other peoples favorite
I bet you all a dollar that when a 500 footer comes out, someone will make a post thats like, "How do you guys feel about TTD not being the tallest anymore?"

Millennium Force was only the tallest for what, all of a few months? Does that ruin it? Does it make it inferior? Absolutely not!

Just because something isn't the tallest or fastest or steepest or has the most inversions or blah blah blah, doesn't mean it, for the lack of a better word that I can think of at the moment, sucks.

As I put in my signature, I've been at Cedar Point every year for 17 years straight, and when May 4 hits, I'll have to change it to 18. Have I formed my own opinions on rides? Sure I have.

I personally don't care for Corkscrew... for me it's rough. Same with Mean Streak... I do like Mean Streak, but my back doesn't. I usually need Advil after that one. And Iron Dragon's not one I shoot for on most trips.

I have more for this list, but I think I made the point I need to. Just because I don't care for them doesn't mean that others should hate them too. Many friends I go with love those rides, and we ride them. And they have fun, and I have fun. That's what this is about... pure fun. At least for me anyway.

And I'm sure that there are tons of visitors to CP and this web site that would completely disagree with my opinions on those rides. That's abolutely fine... everyone has their favorites. I'm not going to throw in their faces that "gee, that ride sucks big time, and how can you ride it without falling asleep." That'd be childish and stupid... and I'd look and be acting like, to keep from swearing big time, a complete jerk.

At the same time, I'm not going to lie... it was quite nice to say, "I've just been on the tallest and fastest and blah blah coaster on Earth." But it's not all a big ego trip.

The "smaller," classic rides are still fun. I love riding Blue Streak, just because if you leave the lap bar up just a notch, you fly around in your seat quite a bit... and Gemini... I could ride that thing over and over and over... no other coaster at CP has the racing setup that Gemini has. Magnum..... oh do I remember the year that puppy opened. And to this day, it's most fun to ride. (But I will say it's a bit rough... I jokingly refer to it as Magnum's personality.... "Boy, Magnum sure was pissed tonight!" when it's really rough). Wicked Twister is also a blast for me... I love speed. The same love of speed exists on Millennium Force. While it doesn't have all the hills that Magnum has, I love how fast it goes. And Raptor, especially at night.... weeeeeeee!

Do I need to continue?

See, each coaster has its own special thing that it does. Just because Dragster makes everything else smaller, doesn't mean it will make them less fun.

Ok, ranting off.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

TekGuy is right. We all have our own opinions. If everyone liked and disliked the same rides, CP would probably have only 5 coasters, all with really long lines.

The big hill, the sheer drop, the incredible speed. Long live Millennium Force!
