Lots of people split up and do things apart on family vacations. Actually, spliting up and doing things apart is a sign of a healthy relationship.
Trust issues and petty jealousy harm a lot of relationships. If you can split up with your partner and do your own thing, no matter what that is, is a sign that your relationship doesn't suffer from those issues.

How about counseling for both of you? If you think your wife is only good at shopping, and you she can't make compromises to allow you to ride, I think there are bigger things to deal with.

What can you do for a marriage where the wife won't ride roller coasters? Is it salvageable? I've tried getting her in touch with her inner child, but her inner child doesn't want to ride them either. ;)
Actually I have a healthy relationship. I don't send my wife shopping, she sends me to the Point. It works out pretty well for the both of us.

You know Chief....there actually is a store like that in PA! They have free beer....my girlfriend took me there a couple years ago. They have a mans lounge with popcorn, a beer tap and tv.

Same here! If my mood starts getting a bit "touchy" my hubby will suggest I head to CP or GL. Some of my best trips were made solo!
My hubby has his sports and doesn't try to share that with me. (OMG if the Reds are going to play my Mets in the wildcard he is going to have to move out till it's over!!! ;))
I have my horses and of course CP and GL. He joins me at the parks and rides with me but he knows it's my thing, he is just there for the "ride" ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
