Drive The Train

Some one just told me that you need to get a degree to drive the train. Is that true? Either way what is the least amount of training you need to drive the train.

As an ex CP & LE engineer I can tell you that the only requirements are that your body can take the physical demands of this job. You have to breath a lot of smoke, it gets realllll warm sitting on top of a steam boiler in July and August, and you get very, very dirty everyday.
