Drinking in the park?

How often do people get busted for trying to sneak beer into the park or drinking beer in the parking lot? Are the security guards pretty strict about it or not?

Plus what are the Ohio laws regarding it? A big fine or not?

In '92 I was inline for Disaster Transport with a friend and we saw 2 college age guys drinking a fifth outta a brown bag.. being 11yearsold, we told an employee and they were escorted off property...

There was a women who had checked her 2 dogs into Petchek, and later that day we found out she got arrested for intoxication. She spend the night in jail, and her dogs had to stay overnight at PetChek.

I once walked through the park with a 24 pack through a suitcase.

Cedar Point isn't a place for drinking, and bringing alcohol on-property, or at the very least through the gates, is against Ohio law.

Guests can only purchase alcohol in the park, they are not alowed to bring any into the park - Point Pavillion maybe, I don't know about that, but not in the park itself. They can get alcohol at Luty Lil's near Mean Streak, or at the Hofbrau near Raptor, and I think there is another place to, but not sure. They can get beer there and many guests take the beer out on the midways. However I do not believe the beverages are alowed in lines. At Gemini, no matter what the drinks are they weren't allowed due to the short wait. And for some reason I remember back in my Power Tower days not allowing guests in line with beer, but I don't remember, so don't quote me on that.

I worked in park admissions and I can tell you that if we see it we take it or make you take it back to your car. We check all coolers before they enter the park. I would say don't try it cause there is a good chance you will get caught.

Here are the places which sell alcoholic beverages at CP. This is only from memory, so the list may not be complete.

Hofbrau, Silver Dollar Cafe, Red Garter Saloon, Last Chance Saloon, Lusty Lil's, Bay Harbor Inn, Boathouse, Breakwater Cafe, TGIF, Bubbles Bar at Soak City, Dominics.

I'm antzing to try that swim up bar soooo bad this summer!
