Dreadlocks?

I know in the dress code your not supposed to have them. But what happens if you have them and they hire you. When you go to process in will they fire u? Is it possible to get away with having them especially if there the neat manicured kind?

well when i was processing in, someone had a beard and HR made them leave and shave it before processing in... i think they are pretty strict about their policies on grooming.

THey won't even let you keep an earring in that your not supposed to have they make you take it off. Some would say too strict..

Yea. I'm sorry to say that you're not going to be able to keep those. They are pretty strict on the grooming guidelines. Especially while processing in because that is when they take your picture for you employee ID.

If you walk in to HR with them they wont even speak to you until they are gone.. my friend went in to talk to them..not in uniform not on the clock after working there for 4 months.. and they made her chip all of her nail polish off before they would talk to her. they dont tolerate anything out of the grooming guidelines. sucks :(

Ok thanks guys. I understand cedar points rules and that to work for them i must follow every rule I just dont like how they call dreadlocks an unnatural hair style. There as natural as u can get. And I understand banning the sloppy messy dreads but the neat ones should be allowed. I feel like if I can be a paying customer at the park i should be allowed to work there. Its like there saying im not allowed to make money working for them but they dont mind taking mine as a customer. But hey rules are rules.

I don't mean to start anything, but how are dreadlocks a natural hair style? It's not like one morning you just wake up one morning and have them, or grow them over time. You have to manipulate your hair and from what I understand, a friend of mine once had dreads, you can't even wash your hair.

I'm sorry but it's not something I would consider natural.

They are a natural style because you dont add chemicals or anything like that to ur hair like an afro or braids or any other natural style. And its not weave or anything like that. I wash my hair twice a week. Its a common misconception that dreads are unclean just cause some people (very few) choose not to wash there hair.

Alright. I'm just saying that if you were to go into nature you wouldn't find anyone with dreads. You have to manipulate your hair in order to make it look that way.

why do they have such a strict policy? what's wrong with nail polish?

The kind of neat dreads that I have no u probably wouldnt see them in nature because I do make sure they dont get sloppy. But dreads are found in nature. Particularly in africa and in other regions with jungles there have been tribes found with dreads. Dreads are found all over the world from e gyptian mummies to the vikings....They have a strict policy because the dresscode hasnt changed since the 70s. It needs to be upgraded to modern times.

You dont have to manipulate your hair to grow dreads. If you left you hair alone and didnt brush it or anything your hair would start to knot and form dreads.

they have a strict dresscode because they want the park to be family friendly and they dont want to have guest be offended

Not to be rude or nothing, but dreads are a natural look, just because everyone does not have long straight hair does not mean it is not natural. I also see the point cp is trying to make with wearing it in the dress code, some hairstyles are just unacceptable.

Well, all I need to say is...It's not in the CP grooming guideline...Therefore in basically every instance it's not allowed...CP has a very strict image of what they want their employees to look like from the customer perspective, so it's very set in stone what you can and cannot have

As for neat manicured dreads...How are they ever neat & whatot, just wondering lol
