Dragster Trains Modified

I was there yesterday and all the trains were missing one car, and on tuesday they all had all five cars on each with out the extra row of seats. I didn't see any mods to the trains or the station, and i did see the engines and spoilers.

I don't think it will have a huge affect on capacity, but a new back seat is nice. More airtime! (But the front should still be the best.)

1. There are no tires or spoilers.

2. Mods have been made to the station.

3. There are extra seats. Get over it. Theming will not be coming back, at least for this season.

Neo i was in the park on thursday i saw the spoilers and the engines, i never said they were on the trains, get over yourself!

Well the ride will still look very cool with the remaining theming that it has.

Remember, its an AMUSEMENT park, not a THEME park, so we can't expect them to go all out to keep it if it doesn't work. Look at it this way too.... when you are riding it you can't really enjoy that theming anyway...

As far as the station mods go, I didn't really look...

So... The last car missing means nothing as of now.... for all we know they might want to test with 4 car op again.... Just wait it out, we'll see those 5th cars as soon as they are done with what they are done with.

I just got back from a week at cedar point and one day all 6 trains had five cars and the next day all the trains only had four. They just took the very last car off every train. So now the trains hold 14 people.

They most likely just have that car off to get those seats on and everything just right. They station has been modified with a new row of seats already. I saw this yesterday. I also saw that the kickerwheels all through the station and the unload area were off and sitting on the platform. I did not understand that. Also all those cylinders(or gray tall things) all the way down the brake run, right at the launch, those were being worked on also.

Gigaman, we all know that they only have four cars on the train. The question was what were they doing with the 5th, but if they are adding the extra line in the station it's safe to stay they will add another row of seats.

i was at the park on friday and they still have 4 cars on each train, i also didnt notice any mods to the station, but as we left last night they had the hydraulic(sp?) room garage door open, and were working on the engine, and man is that thing huge!!!, the pics of that on cp.com do it no justice that engine is a monster!

Allow me to clarify myself...

I was at the park on June 20, 2003. At that time there were 5 cars, with 2 extra seats on each train. There were maintenance personell in the station working on the airgates. Again: June 20th. At that time. Since then, things have obviously changed.

Neo, What are you talking about...I have a pic of the trains from June 25th. There was no extra seats....There were people doing some work on the back of the trains. I didnt see any extra rows, Parts of the station queues were cut up laying on the floor. The next day the back cars on each train were gone and they were welding the extra rows on the station. Thought they never added the acctual airgates for the extra row. I have pictures of the trains the day before the last cars were taken off, I will post the link as soon as i get all the pics from my trip uploaded. My dates arent exactly accurate, I was having too much fun to keep track of dates. So i'm pretty sure it was the 25th.

A couple weeks ago while I was at the park the themeing (wing and engine for all 6 trains) was behind that far wall, the wall im talking about is the one to your right when you enter the queue. You could see if from standing behind the tower about were you would enter Paddlewheel excursions. I guess they were just storing it there.

Here is a pic from behind the Tower...I didnt see any theming there anymore. I dont think the theming is there anymore. Anyway, I never got to see the theming. I have to say, The trains still look good without it on. Sure they would look better, But i dont really mind.

If you would have moved just a little bit more to the right you could have saw it, just the engine is back behind that wall now.

At about 12:30 a.m. on my way out of the park I got to witness a small crane carrying what looked like a car from the Dragster train. Upon closer inspection, it indeed was the 5th car of the bue train....with 2 more seats added in. I'm assuming that all of the trains have now been modified and we will see all six trains back together shortly. And hopefully this thing will get fired up shorty afer that!

Yeah, I noticed that at about 1:00 on the webcams! I figured they had to be adding new trains on, but it was too dark to see what the crane was carrying.
