"What time does the 10 pm laser show start?"
There are probably seat mounts under the diamond plate "shelf" that the theming was attached to
It was probably easiest to do this; that way, you are manufacturing five identical car chassis per train (plus one oddball for the front) rather than four identical plus two oddballs.
On the notion of the theming coming back. I've heard a lot of people say "surely it must be possible to get right." Remeber, they thought they had it right the first time (when the wheels were spinning), and then again the second time (when one fell off). Having worked with lawyers, I doubt that Cedar Fair General Counsel is going to give them the okay for a third attempt, since the liability involved with a theme element falling off the train at 420 feet is too expensive to contemplate.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

Why is CP choosing to do this now? Are the extra seats really necessary for operation? Why couldn't they have just removed the theming and waited til the off season to add the seats?
I swear, some people are never happy. With the new seats, about 100-150 more people per hour can ride. Give me one good reason why they shouldn't do it now? Since the ride is down anyway, I can't think of a better time to do it.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!
1. It's now obvious the ride is a "winner" (when it runs). Every little bit of extra capacity will help in the long run.
2. They weren't even close to the projected 1,500 hourly capacity, even when things were running "smoothly". I'm sure it was quite unacceptable by Cedar Fair standards.
This is the right move, even though I liked the theming.

Hey, I heard a rumor that Millenium Force is sinking... It's sucking Dragster in with it.
1. The rattling of the engines etc. on the back. But why not replace that with a more secure and lighter weight engine on the back.
2. The tire falling off and almost hitting someone.
3. As you said the added capacity. However, the added seats aren't going to mean anything when it doesn't run, which is one reason why they're not close to the 1,500 PPH.

You wouldn't even have to worry about them flying off either because they would just float to the ground.
