Dragster is NOT Back

They should just close the stupid ride down for the remainder of the season and actually FIX IT CORRECTLY. Running it for an hour or two everyday just to see it breakdown for the remainder of the day, NEARLY EVERYDAY, is both dumb and disappointing!

I've heard it only has actually ran the FULL day like once or twice so far. That is sad. MF was never this bad even in its very first season so people need to stop comparing it to MF just for a reason for all this downtime to be "OK"

To the immature people who posted ridiculous replies to my Post, I would like to thank you for your non-sense. As a former ride operator at the park for 3 seasons, I DO understand the unpredictable nature of some of these machines, and I don't blame Cedar Point for having a new ride that is having uptime problems. However, Cedar Point should change their stance to "Dragster MAY be Open Today" on the signs at the park until Dragster reaches a higher level of reliability.

To the few of you who did reply with an appropriate comment (Draken LC, etc.), thanks for trying to make this an open forum.

I agree with you. I have many times at one point or another posted a topic or a reply to a post only to get flamed by the immature people on this board. Lots of people on here think CP is some kind of holy place and that it can do NO wrong whatsoever. They will usually comment with sarcastic replys such as you seen in this thread like "we already know that duh" or "why don't you read the other threads" or my favorite "why did you post a new thread?!?" Duh, why do think new threads are posted.

I agree with your stance as well on CP leading you to believe Dragster will be open only for it not to open until late or hardly run at all. They need to either say "Dragster is running" or "Dragster is not running"..its that simple..dragster MAY be open just leads some people to waste there day waiting for it to run only to be disappointed when it don't

Well, it cuts both ways.

Noboby wants to read six new topics every day about how Dragster is down again, not just because it's repetitive but because it's depressing.

Then again, nobody wants to be patronized by comments like: "Roller Coasters are machines, and machines break down. It happens." Thanks, professor.

In any case, Dragster's troubles are frustrating for everyone — the park, enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts. But there's nothing you can do about it.

I was there on friday the 18th and i got on the ride at 1-ish

I have to give the park credit for changing the signs rather quickly today. When we arrived at about 11, the sign read: "Top Thrill Dragster is Open, intermittent delays are possible." I had to wait for a friend to buy a ticket and my girlfriend saw a sign in the window that said Dragster was closed. I turned around and looked at the big sign and it had been changed. This was in a matter of about 5 minutes. It happened so fast I started to think that I was hallucinating the first time I saw it. We still had a blast though.
