Hey everyone!
I have some random questions. I realize many of these have been asked beforeso sorry if it seems too repetitive.
1. Though I don't have my own car, should I live in the Commons since thereis a bus that takes you to work anyways? I realize no dorm housing will be perfect, but I have not heard very many positive things about Cedars? Or is Cedars an okplace to live (minus the fact there is no A/C?) Also, it may seem foolish, butit is looking like the dorms don’t have a community stove to use do they?
2. Have you had any real problem with things getting stolen? I see there arelockers to lockup stuff, but I was just wondering? is it true Cedars doorsdon't lock?
3. Speaking of busses, when they go into town what is the schedule like? Ifyou go to the store, are they around in a hour or is it probably more like acouple of hours (I imagine it would determine on the day or time) but ingeneral how long do you wait?
I guess that is all I have for right now. Thanks for any advice and lookingforward to meeting some of you this summer!
As far as where you should live that's up to you. If you like to sleep in a little before work, you might wanna try Cedars, but if you're okay with getting up early go with Commons or Bayside. You might meet people with cars so you might not have to always take the bus to work.
I haven't had problems with things being taken from me, but it all depends on the people that you bring around. Not everyone can be trusted so be careful about that.
The buses have a set schedule for when they go into the city that you would have to check out when you get there. But again, you might meet people with cars and some might have to go to the city.
Hope that helped.

When I moved into commons a couple years ago I was immediately asked by my room mate at the time if i was a thief, I told him that I was a returning employee and a supervisor on top of that so he didn't have to worry about me. Two days later he up and quit and helped himself to a few of my things as parting gifts. You just have to be careful with any valuables until you really learn about the people you are rooming with as stuff can and will happen.
Another thing about getting into the city if you don't want to wait for the bus to go there and back there are a few cheap cabs that will take you where you need to go. International employees usually want to go into the city every so often so splitting a cab with them would make things easy.
GO IRISH!!
