Does soak city still operate when raining?

Given it's a water park, will this area still run if its raining (and I have faith that it wont rain ;). I want to maximize my time and might as well jump in water if im already getting wet.

This is the first weekend I have been back in a good 5 years. Moved to DC from MI. Last time I was there, it was opening season of TTD with 3 hour waits, but sounds like the added coasters and rides have helped spread out the people. I guess recession has less people traveling too.

Thanks,

Dustin

Rain yes, thunder no.

Most of the slides shut down in rain, but other attractions should stay open unless there is lightning.

^Why would you shut down water slides in the rain? Ive been to tons of water parks when it rained and the slides have never closed unless there is lightning in the area. That makes no sense, and must be a new policy because I can remember riding at Soak City in the rain years ago.

Normally the water flowing down the slide follows a set channel and the rest of the chute stays dry. When it rains, the whole chute gets wet, which can cause people and tubes to ride higher up the walls which could lead to flipping over or falling off a tube. At least, this is the reasoning one of the lifeguards gave to me last year.

I hope the weather starts getting a bit warmer! I mean it is sad that most of this summer so far I have had a jacket on! I would like to be able to go to the water parks and not be cold!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

It was very hot at the park yesterday. A good day for Soak City.
