Hello, currently I'm the Assistant Rides Manager at Waldameer Park in Erie, Pennsylvania. As our season comes to an end this Labor Day, I would like to stay involved with the Amusement Industry and gain a wider perspective of park operations in the Fall. I understand there are sharp contrasts from operating rides from one park to another, so experiencing how a large park operates firsthand would be a great learning experience. Also, operating rides is just plain fun. Therefore, I have two questions for anyone who might know. First, is there usually a need for help after Labor Day? Also, do late season arrivals usually get assigned to smaller/low-action rides, or are assignments based on other factors?
Any answers or information would be helpful.
This article states that they are hiring for park operations. Or you could just be a Screamster and try to get Waldameer to start their own Halloween event. :)

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Staffing is usually really tight come HalloWeekends, however; I don't know how much hiring the managers do that late in the season. Try for ride operations as your first choice, but have a back up as a Screamster, or something.

2011: Raptor

2013: Co-Team Leader of Sky Ride
2014: Supervisor of Slingshot/Skyscraper
Just a quick update.
I went through with my idea to apply for a Ride Host position this Fall, and I will be finishing this season at Gatekeeper. Cedar Point is going to be a great eye-opening adventure compared to my current range of experience in a small amusement park, and I can't wait for a real challenge.
Emails are being sent to applicants regarding Ride Hosts for Halloweekends in September and October.
