Does anyone pay attention to the hints? Does anyone care to say 2002? Thats all I'm saying, now just close this thread, Jeff, there will be a press release in October. I know. Please, just wait until then.

 

This coming from a CP employee who is tired of hearing, whats coming next year? Enjoy this year before worrying about next year.

When I ran into Dick Kinzel on a Saturday in July, I asked him point blank "So Richard, tell me what will Cedar Point be getting new in 2002!"  His reply, "I am not at liberty to say, but I have never known Cedar Point to go 2 years without getting something new!

or not....He will tell all in October. Robin Innes said so himself through email that there will be a press release sometime in October, maybe later.

October? The speculation has begun. Oh wait, that started last year after a certain 310 foot coaster was built... ;)

The best thing to do is to be a pessimist so if Cedar Point just gets minor improvements, you would have been on top of everything. If they get a coaster, you can be happy your wrong. :)

I just want to know are they getting a new coaster for next year. I do not want to know what it is

I must admit that the anticipation and guessing are pat of the fun. Like everyone, I have my own theory, and can't wait to see what the park has planned! (For the record, my theory does not include any coasters in the year 2002)

I can't believe some people on this board believe that some people on this board know what is going on for 2002. Give me a break! "The Know" crowd does not exist. I am not trying to bash anyone on here but, if you were a high ranking CP official whould you share secrets with a bunch of people who run an Internet Web Site, were information spread faster than wildfire??? Please, Dick Kinzel and other high ranking CF officials aren't that stupid. Plus, if word got out to the CF board of directors about future plans internally being spread to the wrong people, D.K. and other officals would run the risk of being fired because that info can be used as insider information which is highly illegal. The GTTP officials know the same as everyone about next year simply because they are not CF executives or on the board of directors. I have been reading and posting at GTTP for 2 years now, and this thread has hit the rock bottom in stupidity.

I'm sure that there are people that do know what is going on for next year. Even though this thread does exlemplify stupidity, it doesn't do it in the manner you are talking about. People know. Do people have to prove that they know? Maybe to you... but I'm content knowing that there will be something going on next year. I don't know what it is yet. It could be a bathroom for all I know! But there's something going on that they feel is important enough to hold off on telling.

Jeff knows, and he's laughing right now..........(actually, I believe that they will theme the Oceana with the Boardwalk Theme, but no coaster until 2003 or 2004.)

The board of directors could fire him. They elected him in the late 1980's, and they have the voting power to remove him from office if need be... That's what a board of directors does, it looks over company officials in the best interests of its stock holders.

As far as people proving it to me, they don't need to. I know they know nothing because it is in conflict with common sense that they would know.

I hate to agree with him, but Squishy makes some excellent points ;). On a side note, with attendance down 9% thus far this year, will that have any affect on the 2002 plans or is that money already budgeted?

The coefficient of combustibility for this thread has become very high, so in conclusion, we can make a few observations: 
1.  Dick Kinzel does not contribute rumors to Screamscape in his spare time.
2.  Those who don't know may have to wait longer for an announcement.
3.  The ratio of those who believe they know to those who don't know will most likely remain the same until the proper time. 
In the meantime, let's try to enjoy the rest of summer and let this topic go until the official announcement.
