Parking is 10 bucks regardless of whether you come up the causeway or the chausee.

Wow, I never realized that Cedar Point Road exists. I looked at it on google maps and I dont see any ticket booths. The road enters CP's lot after the causeway booth. I am sure that I am missing something.

Jugga, refering back to the origianl post, is there less traffic? It might be a good way to exit at the end of the night.

Thanks. No wonder I didnt see it from googles aerial.

It could be a good way to exit if you're already on that side of the peninsula. Otherwise it could be a pain to fight the flow of traffic headed towards the causeway.

Often times, if you're on the Causeway (or the lanes that become the Causeway in a few yards, I guess) at closing, the traffic attendants won't even let you turn left onto the Chaussee. I've found this out the hard way.

You CAN get out on the Chaussee at closing, although it takes some smart driving to do it. Traffic, though, is not much better than taking the causeway; most times, it's even worse, because (I think) it's longer and it's only two lanes all the way. If you're already on the Causeway, you are not going to get to the Chaussee from there. You have to drive all the way through the parking lot, preferably on the north side.

I didn't SAY it wasn't possible to get on the Chaussee at closing. I said you couldn't turn LEFT on it from the lanes that become the Causeway.

I used to go out the Chaussee sometimes at closing. All I ever did was put my turn signal on they directed me right on by.

One of my buddies was at CP on Saturday which apparently was super busy. He said that he was directed towards the Chaussee when exiting and it added 45minutes to his travel time. I assume it was only because of the volume of people that were at the park that day.

It may have added 45 minutes to his normal travel time, but if it was busy enough to warrant sending him down the Chausee, it may have saved him time.

Very true. He left just prior to closing so I am sure there was no easy exit.

I've left down that way at peak exit times, and it can get pretty congested when you get closer to Cleveland Rd. (Rt. 6) since it's one lane and a stop sign. Although sometimes there will be cops directing traffic, which makes it much more manageable. That said, if it was that busy, going down the Causeway would have probably been just as bad.

What is a casueway?

It's almost like a casualway, which is a road you're only allowed to drive across while wearing Dockers and a golf shirt....
