Do we need to pay for our roommates room Intill they get there

Hey my roommates arnt checking in Intill may and I'm checking in march Do I have to pay?

Nope just every 2 weeks you have to keep going down to the housing office and keep putting there name in to reserve it since your in bayside i have no idea where you do it

This has been brought to attention. Rooms can now be held for a maximum of 5 days.

I thought it was 2 weeks.... At least it was last session did they change it?

Last year it was 10 days or one week. Something like that. We had to renew our roommate a couple of times since he processed in a few weeks after us.

But wow, 5 days now? With no renewal?

When people are posting on here about openly abusing the system, it's not a big surprise that they changed the policy.

That's kind of rough though, five days isn't really much time, especially if your roommates process in a couple weeks after you.

For example, my roommate is working in Live E, and doesn't process in until the 18th of May. I process in on the 4th of May. Totally bucky.

And i process in on april 29th and my other roommates dont process in till may 10th -_-

so there is no way to keep requesting? my roommate isn't coming til June 10 -_-

That's pretty far enough into the season that you probably won't be able to do that...

When I lived in housing, you couldn't even "hold" or "request" a specific room mate. You got who you got.

I'm sure there is. If not, another reason I'm thrilled to not be living in housing this year.

I also dont see how saving a spot for a roommate, and renewing it is "abusing the system".

Its not. Maybe if you went down there and made up a name so you wouldnt get a random person, that might be considered abuse but requesting a legit person is not. Theres probably a reason they ask when they process in and what department they're in.

Housing space is limited, and not all facilities are open at once until June. Holding fake names, or constantly renewing names, prevents space from other individuals to live in their preferred complex.

June? They were all open first week of may when I was there...

The on-site dorms, Golds and Cedars, don't open until Memorial Day weekend; sometimes a bit sooner depending on weather.

So if my friends process in May25th & June3rd, I can't keep reqeusting thier spot to be save every two weeks?
