I am just curious. If they do how hard is it to get on? Lines?
CP doesn't have a dedicated network for employees to access the internet like some Universities. There are four ways to get online at CP. The easyiest and cheapest is to go into downtown Sandusky to the library where they have internet enabled computers. The next easiest way is to use the internet terminals that are put into the dorm lobies. These terminals cost about 75 cents a minute. Another way is to use a friends computer. The last posibility is to bring your own computer and pay for internet access. But this has many problems such as busy phone lines, busy going out to the ISP, not at the ISP, high cost, and the ever looming possibiliy of theft.
My advice is to just drive, walk, or take the bus downtown and use the computers at the public library. They don't cost a dime, but you might have to wait awhile.

I've brought my computer both years I've gone, just because I am a big computer nerd and really need to have it for peace of mind. Wait a few days to set it up, see if you can trust your roommates, and DO NOT set it up in the main room of the apartment, set it up in your bedroom if you're going to take it.

Natatlie and MonsterOp are right. Those are all good options. What I did last year, since I brought my laptop was take into the new rec center where there are dedicated phone lines for Internet Access. By dedicated I mean no dialing 9, and waiting for a free line to come available, just a normal phone line. These are great if you have AOL or NetZero or whatever else for ISP. If you don't have an ISP like that, then I suggest going down to Advanced Computer Connections in Sandusky. It is located on the corner of Perkins Ave. and Milan Rd. in the little strip mall there. They are very friendly, have good connection speeds, and I never got disconnected. They provide you with the software to get started and instructions. I signed up for a 3 month plan and paid the $60 up front for 3 months of access. You also get one email account though their service. That is the option that I went with and it worked out very nicely. Just be sure to cancel your servce once you leave Cedar Point though. You can also do this for your desktop PC, but remember then you will have to deal with dialing 9, and trying to get a free line, which can take the majority of the evening, unless you want to haul your desktop to the rec center everytime you want Internet.

Once I discovered the library in Huron, I preferred that over Sandusky's library. It's less than a 10 minute drive and you have unlimited time on the computer as long as no one else wants to get on it. At the sandusky library, you usually have to set up an appointment time to be able to get on one, and you only get a half hour.

Hmm. I'll have to check out the Huron library. Sounds like a good idea.
Sounds like nothing short than a pain, maybe I'll just forget internet access when i take my PC?
It does sound like alot of work, but I need to be able to check my mail.
I need to be able to play Quake :o/
Think if I bring my desktop into the dedicated lines at the rec center once a week or so I can play there? :o)

Do they have internet access at Cedar Point?!?!...For those of you who know me,Sonny. I know this question all to well!! Can you say Sprint Internet Kisosk
Our library in Huron is undergoing a major renovation project, so make sure you call ahead to check on hours.
It's really easy to get to. Just exit Cedar Point and turn left on to Cleveland Rd. Take it all the way into Huron and turn right on to Williams St. The library will be on your right.
