Do people actually like The Corkscrew?

Let me start this by saying I am 47 years old and remember when the Corkscrew first opened and how scared I was when I first rode it. I am not against keeping old rides if they are fun like The Bluestreak but i really see no reason to keep the corkscrew. I was at the park on Tuesday with my 15 year old niece and we rode pretty much everything except the Meanstreak because it kills my back.

After riding the Corkscrew we both agreed that we really did not like it at all and it banging your head back and forth against the harness wasnt much fun. Maybe we just had a bad ride but there wasnt one part of it that we thought was any fun.

Are we alone in our opinions about The Corkscrew?

With so many arrow corkscrews still out there, it's a wonder that they don't design a better train and restraint system.

Look at what it did for flight of fear.

I enjoy it. I like going through the corkscrews over a crowded midway. It's fun to wave at people. :)

I really can't imagine Cedar Point without Corkscrew! It's a classic.

I do have to agree that how people can walk under the loops is cool

I still enjoy it. I barely fit. That may be why I don't get the headbanging.

After Mean Streak(and I'm still trying to figure that one out), it's my sons favorite ride in the park.

I don't know what THE Corkscrew is, but there is a ride called Corkscrew that I don't really care for. ;) I also rode Lochness Monster this year. Another Arrow looper that my butt will never sit on again. ;)

I love the Corkscrew. I have been on this ride more times than I can count. I love the bunny hill before the first loop. I miss the animals in Jungle Larry's that were right next to it. Long live the Corkscrew.

I ride it every couple years... and the ensuing headache reminds me why I don't ride it regularly.

^^I agree with people using "the". Is magnum-xl-200 The Magnum-xl-200? Call the ride by its name.

I love corkscrew. It is one of my favorite coasters. I wish it was just a little longer though.

I will give Corkscrew credit for one thing. It still has a nice drop to it, but it does bang you around a little. It's also too short! Still a great ride for it's age.

I really enjoy the corkscrew. It was my first looping coaster. I have never once experienced any problems with my neck or back but I am around 6 ft. My shorter sister sometimes gets a headache. I think the corkscrew should stay around as long as it can. The corkscrews over the midway are amazing on or off ride.

It's a piece of history, the corkscrews over the midway are iconic, and it's not as if it takes up very much space in the first place that could be better utilized by a 500 ft. Flyer or the like. It might even have the most vicious little bunny hill in the park.

Plus, given its usual walk-on status, what do people really have to complain about?

Geez give me a break. Most people I know say I rode the Magnum. I have never said or heard anyone say magnum xl 200 in my life

i don't really care for corkscrew, but i can't see cedar point without it. the park just wouldn't be the same.

I think the bunnyhill before the first loop makes it unique...I always take a trip because the line is so short. I think the ride duration is my only complaint. It does jostle you around...but that's expected...it's a roller coaster! If you don't want to get jostled around, go take a trip in a Cadillac on I-80.

Corkscrew's continuing appeal is as an inverting coaster that doesn't look as scary to younger eyes. Unlike Mantis with its huge drop or Raptor with its tangled web of track, Corkscrew is very straight forward. Even very young kids can track the entire ride visually. So even though physically it's one of the roughest coasters in the park, psychologically it's a good starter looper. The 48" height requirement doesn't hurt either.

I love Corkscrew, especially in the back. The hill after the drop is one of my favourite in the park. Its location is great and the interaction with the guests is the best. I don't mind being jolted around a bit, I enjoy the comfort of my Lincoln on the drive home.

I like Corkscrew, especially the 2nd hill. It's also a good ride for beginners or people who don't like riding big coasters.

I have had a season pass since i was 11 now i'm37 we take our kids(11and 5 )to the park all the time they have grown up there,but my oldest will not ride the corkscrew ever again her first she said i want to go home my head hurts as did mine the ride has gotten very rough and not real fun anyway. We love Cedar Point but one ride that could go is corkscrew
