That is what wrestling is, just entertainment. Half naked fat guys? Jeff, if you watch it today good old Vince McMahon doesnt allow out of shape people in his stable. My main purpose for watching is the good looking women. The guys that wrestle today are in great shape also. Fat people in this day and age of wrestling are not allowed. Since this subject is about Steve Austin, just take a look at him. He is a muscle machine.
'rasslin!! ugh...what a waste of TV time...i agree with Jeff's view. besides, if you're THAT famous, WHY would you go someplace like CP and NOT warn them you were coming?? too many pile-drivers, maybe??

well, no, not really QUALITY, just that it seems like such a waste in general..it's not even REAL!! give me REAL sports, like hockey, baseball, NASCAR, Indy Cart, etc...even horseracing and golf are better than a fake "sport"...
ok, go ahead and flame me now...

It is at least half fake. As the wrestlers themselves have said that. There is still a chance of them getting hurt but I don't think they are injured when they brake out of the ambulance.
I found it weird that my brother can actually tell who is going to win the fight during the first ten minutes.

Its not considered a sport servo so relax. Its viewed as a soap opera and entertainment. The people running the organizations and the wrestlers come right out and tell everyone it is storylines and fixed outcomes. Millions watch it every week so it cant be that bad.
whatever...

Why not announce it?
Humility, maybe? Not exploiting 'fame' to linejump?
Just a few comments.
1) Professional wrestling is now called "sports entertainment".
2) Jeff said: "A bad soap opera with half-naked fat guys wrestling on a trampoline." - From having been in a WWF ring (when my high school had them put on an event for a fundraiser back in winter '95), it's certainly not a trampoline. Sure, it's not like getting tossed on a concrete floor, but it's certainly not a trampoline. (And regardless, most of the matches aren't even fought in the ring anymore.)
3) I have to agree, though, it *is* a soap opera, and although I haven't watched it in quite some time, I do get upset about how people try to put it/its fans down because of it trying to seem real. Well, they now say it's not real, and most fans know that.
4) I totally agree with Chitown: "If you like wrestling than so be it. There are alot of people out there that think we are pathetic for idolizing coasters."
And that's all I have to say.

I have been a wrestling fan since a was a little kid. When I was smaller, I believed that the wrestlers were out to really get each other. Times have changed, and I now realize that it is nothing more than pure "entertainment." Don't get me wrong, I give the people in those organizations a lot of credit for their physical ability, and the punishment that their bodies take. There is nothing fake about the way that they fall, or some of the other things they do, but I will continue to be a fan because it "entertains" me.
Before this topic gets out of control, I think this will be a good time to end it.
