Discovery Channel and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in

Hello...here's the latest line from CP....
The Discovery Channel crew will be around for a few days filming a new special for next year. Today, although it was rainy, they were filming at the Millennium Force. It hasn't been made clear to us exactly what kind of show it will be, but it will feature a few of Cedar Point's "signature" attractions.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin also showed up today! Unfortunately he didn't notify anyone in Public Relations so he was literally mobbed by people when he began to get noticed. Finally Security was called in and he is being escorted around the park the rest of the day. One of my friends in Marketing got his autograph, and said that Stone Cold really liked the Millennium Force!
In reference to Steve Austin, I haven't watched wrestling in about a year now, but for some reason, that tidbit brought a smile to my face. I guess just the thought of him screaming on Millennium Force seems funny to me.

I saw something On ET abot him having some sort of back injury. Doesn't it say d o not ride I you have back probablems?

Remember, line jumping is NOT a sporting event!

Actually to be more precise he had neck surgery. According to his doctors, he is nearly healed, and works a daily rigorous cardiovascular regimend (sp). (or something like that. ;-) )

Yeah... I talked to PR this afternoon, and that was the big news. Given the average number of wrestling shirts worn by guests on any given day, I can just imagine what a mess that was!

Thats really cool. I am a wrestling freek. That would be so cool if I saw Stone Cold Steve Austin at CP.
Well all I have to say is if Austin was able to ride MF and Vince McMahon gets wind of this he will want him to be on TV wrestling as soon as possible. The Rock + Steve Austin= ratings.
Chitown, that's very true. But right now, it's more along these lines.

WWF = great ratings
Rock + Steve Austin = incredible ratings

Lynch, couldnt agree with you more. Has Mick Foley ever been on MF considering he was doing a cross country park tour? Its now along these lines.
The Rock + Steve Austin + Mick Foley + The Undertaker= Outstanding ratings.
Real names:
Steve Austin: Steven Williams
Mick Foley: Mick Foley
The Rock: Andrew Johnson
The Undertaker: Mark Callaway
Oh man, I watch wrestling entirely to much!!!! But I enjoy coasters just as much!!!!!! *** This post was edited by Chitown on 8/18/2000. ***
I was at CP today, I just got home. I saw Steve getting escorted through the exit ramp during our wait on the ramp leading to the loading platform for MF. I couldn't believe it, Stone Cold at CP! he rode the red train and then was escorted off when we were boarding. After the ride I rushed down to see him and sure enough he was standing there giving autographs. I was lucky enough to get his autograph and a nice hand shake. I asked him when he was coming back and he said "very soon", YIPPEE!! I thanked him with tears in my eyes and he gave me a pat on the back as I said that I don't watch WWF anymore since he is absent, he replied "I don't blame you". This was such an awesome day, I got 4 rides on MF, an autograph, and a nice MF sweatshirt because of the nasty weather today. All and all it was one of the best trips ever even with the rain.

Chitown, I hate to mark out for the Rock on a CP board, but his real name is Dwayne Johnson. :-) Also for all those interested, Austin is due back in the ring within about 2 months (according to Jim Ross). I really don't think a trip to CP would have any effect on his recovery from surgery. Well, unless he rode the Mean Streak! LOL Just kidding MS fans. :-)

I saw Stone Cold as I was waiting in line for Magnum. We just got on the steps that lead to the station, and my boyfriend said "Stone Cold Steve Austin." I thought he said "someone got busted" I saw a few CP Police, then he said it again, and I realized what was going on.

He was actually in line for a while, shaking hands and posing for pictures, and I couldn't believe that he would wait in line. Then as we entered the station, he was on the exit side waiting to ride. I got to see him get on, and he did have his hands up going down the hill! I only wish I could have seen his reaction when he entered the station, but we were on our way up the hill.

Later, we saw him exiting MF.

To those of you who also saw him....did you notice how short his shorts were?? They were shorter than mine!!

I'm not a big wrestling fan, but it was cool to see someone famous at CP.

Seems that the news is making headlines in the wrestling world as well:

I think they might be filming for a next year edition of "Scream Parks" like they had this year for SFMM

As for Steve Austin, he hasn't wrestled in 10 months due to a spinal cord/back injury. Though just two weeks ago, he was cleared by his doctors to return to action in 2-3 months. So I guess his back is ok enough now to ride coasters

Feel the Force NOW!!
Yeah, he actually had his neck broken in the ring a couple years ago (courtesy of a sloppy piledriver by Owen Hart). It's so pathetic that I know that ...

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.
Whats so pathetic about it? If you like wrestling than so be it. There are alot of people out there that think we are pathetic for idolizing coasters.

A friend of mine is really in to wrestling, but at least he likes it for what it is: A bad soap opera with half-naked fat guys wrestling on a trampoline.

Oh well, sure beats Jerry Springer.

I would have bought one of those pics for sure! That would be so sweet to have an on-ride pic from SCSA. :-)
