I still shout out "We're losing control!!" at the halfway point of the ride.
Although a lot of people considered the animatronics cheesey, I thought they were cute.
Regardless, I agree the themeing isn't what it used to be and even cheesier now than before. But I still like the coaster itself, and it's a great family ride.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

And now it appears they allow "special" second graders to do the decorating. ;)
Loosen up, dj! Relax in the three-dimensionality-ness of it all. Get groovy. Get down. And get a one dollar pair of shades. Then you'll appreciate it for its psychedelic splendor. ;)

So does the blacklighting no longer work? Because I will be taking my children to CP next year, and they are all geeked up to see their clothes glow-in-the-dark.
I will never hear the end of it if there is no blacklighting!
I just went yesterday and they still had some blacklight. The queue area now only goes through the repair bay, then up the stairs to the loading platform. There is minor blacklight in the repair bay, and heavy blacklight on the loading platform.
They still have a smaller "Dis(patch) (M)aster Transport" sign at the bottom of the stairs.
It seems to be getting rougher every time I go on it. It's like a washboard road now.
The queue entrance is an embarassment, it's just a walkway through some rusty chain link fence. The flourescent props look very amateurish.
That is the change for Halloweekends. The ride entrance gets moved down and the main entrance is used for Pharoahs Revenge.

Ah figures. I should've realized it was only for Halloweekends. They had Dodgem closed too, working on turning it into Boo Hill.

Thanks to Jeremy S. for explaining the story behind this ride. I recently visited CP for the first time and my friend and I went on this ride to see what it was all about. Neither one of us could figure out he backstory! Here's what it looks like through the eyes of a newcomer: we figured out that it was some sort of space travel company from the weird posters in the first part of the queue (the one with the huge gargoyle eating the Eiffel tower for Paris and things like that). Then we went through that tunnel-thing with the neon handprints (my friend was an art major in college, I'm sure you can imagine how impressed she was...) Next was the Repair Bay with the large buzzing tube in the middle which reminded me of the large talking head in that Power Rangers show my little brother used to watch back in the mid 90's. At one point I became a little frightened of it because the buzzing became really loud and random and I thought it was about to break. There were some robots spraying water on one of the cars, and it reminded me of the "Test Track" ride at Epcot (the "acid test" part if you've been on it). There was also a blinking red "reject" sign above you as you exited the room, and I wondered what that was about. Next came the rearranged Dispatch Master Transport sign, which made me think that maybe an earthquake was involved. Finally we were on the ride, but honestly I missed all of the themeing because I was more intersted in watching the car travel on the track. I had never seen anything like it outside of the winter olympics. Is the car really allowed to move freely within the track area, like a bobsled? It was cooler than anything I had seen up to that point. Going up the lift hill there were all kinds of flashing lights, which reminded me of Space Mountain (there are a lot of DisneyWorld references in my write up, which is ironic because I'm not really a huge fan). At the end of the ride we got off and there was a sign that said "Welcome to Alaska." At that point I turned to my friend and actually said "wtf was that about?" After being welcomed to Alaska, we went down the steps and back into the 90 degree heat. I exited the ride annoyed and confused. I don't like it when I don't know what's going on!
In my opinion, a better explanation of the backstory would have helped the ride immensely. The ride part was fun, though. For me it was a once and done thing.
Marvina1216,
That is funny, i'm sure it is very confusing not knowing anything about it. like the posts have said, in its day, it was a cool ride and it made it much more (cheezy) fun!

no one knows really I was told it stood for Erik's 12th ride... "E" being Erik
