Ive never been to HalloWeekends before. Is Disaster Transport open during the event?....or is it closed because of the Haunted House inside the line?
Thanks!!
The haunted house takes up the first part of the queue. The entrance of the ride is to the left the normal entrance right before the exit. And yes the ride still does suck.

This doesn't really have anything to do with Disaster Transport, but is Hurricane Hannahs still open while Lair of the Vampire is there?
Hurricane Hannahs was closed this past weekend on Friday...not sure about other days.
However, I would argue it has some of the best "skeleton work" in the park.
Promoter of fog.
Yeah... it ran 2 cars today... Talk about the slowest moving line ever.

The line starts into the "repair bay" for HalloWeekends and the time to set up beforehand.
The ride does in fact suck. Avalanche run sucked. It's too short and was not designed to fit any theme. Putting a building around a ride and attempting a theme was futile effort. The theme was pretty cheesy from conception. The execution of the theme was decent in some areas while others were inconsistent and subpar. With a few exceptions, the theme is been set to rot.
I think they enclosed it out of necessity. The sand from the beach would blow into the track and mess up the works. Besides when it was Avalanche Run it was terribly noisy - So I prefer it the way it is now. Besides, my kids love it.
Hurricane Hanna's does have some excellent pirate skeletons that have taken over the place. They're still open.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
We are open every Halloweekend (except on Fridays).
Also... DT runs FIVE shuttles and has been like that all season. On Sunday we had to take one off to clean and brought it back on as soon as possible.

Rider, explain to me then, if the ride has only 5 vehicles, how 5 could be running when there's always atleast 2 sitting on the transfer track.

Cedar Point does:

Based on the fact that they say Gemini has 6 trains, I'm guessing they mean the total number, which is what leads me to believe they only have 5 vehicles.

For the record, I never claimed that it did in fact have any certain number of shuttles. I was only pointing out that Rider never claimed that DT had a certain number, that's all.
Brandon
I realize that, but my point is that they couldn't possibly be running 5 shuttles when they only have 5 and there are 2 sitting on the transfer track.

dj, are you suggesting that DT has an indeterminate number of shuttles? What is this, some kind of quantum effect? ;)
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
There are 7 shuttles total. Of which only 5 are run at a time (except for any different situations). Two are always sitting outside.
They are numbered 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (1 seems to be missing... for fun we call the one in the repair bay #1 even though it isn't real) which makes it even more confusing because there are NOT 8 shuttles, only 7.
The website is wrong (or at least only counts the running shuttles) and the only thing I can suggest to you in order to get proof is to come back and visit. Anyone on the crew (or even anyone in Park Operations) can tell you how many we are running and even let you watch as they cycle through the station.

Well, I guess that clears that up then. I was basing it on the fact that all the sources say 5. But that does bring up another question... did the ride use to always run 6 shuttles then? It seems like they don't stack as far back into the brakerun during normal operation as they used to.
