(Re: How do they inspect DT)
Honestly, I don't know exactly how they do it. But there is no reason that an inspector could not walk the track on Disaster Transport provided that the ride is properly locked out. There are, in fact, maintenance catwalks adjacent to the block brake governors, and there is a stairway on either side of the lift. I don't think there are any parts which are too steep to walk, but I am also not certain that would be a useful way to check the ride anyway...I'd think that the parts to check would be the joints on the outside of the tube, and the support columns. The actual track portion has a lip on the upper edges to serve as a limit stop for the car wheels; perhaps there are tie-off points above that lip on the steep parts so that climbing gear may be used? I'm just guessing.
