Disapointed with Raptor

Ride ops are still allowed to help bucking dumb or slow people into the seat, but if they can see that the person is not going to fit then the person has to try it themselves.  For those of you complaining about consistancy, sometimes there are situaions where you have to change that.  SOMEONE DYING is one of them.  you all need to get over the fact that they are doing this because it is no going o change. Think about it....is it really worth your life to squeeze yourself into a dam ride???  Come on now!
Well, just to give some slight background on the B&M restraints, the seatbelt is supposed to be sized such that when it finally clicks into the harness, the third ratchet click on the locking system will engage.  B&M considers 3 ratchet clicks to be redundantly safe.  Although it may not seem like it, most of the force is on the ratchet.  I'm not a mechanical engineer but after seeing the ratcheting system, I think that does not cause nearly as much potential wear as a looser restraint that has enough play to move around a bit.

It doesn't then seem to make much sense that now the employees won't help with closing the harnesses knowing that.  But then again, if there is any type of legal issue, often logic goes out the window.

I really should be working...

I'm reminded of a trip a few years back where a man and his son, who was just 3 or 4 inches short of riding were in front of me in line.  The man tried to hand the ride op at the front of the queue a $20 bill to "Oh, just let him ride anyway, c'mon..."   I proceeded to ask the man if that's the value he put on his son's worth, twenty lousy bucks.

People are dumb.  The ride ops are there to ensure you are safe.  I *highly* doubt a ride operator EVER let a train out of the station without a belt buckled, nor they ever will.  The policy enforces that YOU have buckled your seatbelt... that doesn't change the fact that the staff will ensure the belt is secured.

Oh sure, sometimes it happens, but they have sensors on the ride that shut down the lift if that happens. That's why ride ops have to run out there every so often to get someone to re-buckle their belt.

MF count: 20

actually.. no they don't.. a stop on the lift is done when an op see's someone without a belt... ever notice they watch as you leave..

The lift is the first block they can stop you on where they can get to you. There are no seat-belt sensors on Raptor, or Mantis, or any other coaster at CP... now VertiGo.. that's a different story..

A barrel of fun...
