What? Dinosaurs Alive IS geared towards kids. It's not a matter of whether or not they'd choose DA over the new rides, it's a matter of whether or not the parents want to pay to take their kids through it.
The only reason(s) Cedar Point would need to take it out is if there's no revenue coming in and/or they decide to use the land for something else.

It's one of the only ok beers on point. Personally I'm into more craft brews but it's not like I can carry a Great Lakes Octoberfest or a flask of Bourbon with me...If I did, oh man, thrills would connect
I will stop talking on why to take out DA and focus on brining Terror Island back

There is absolutely nothing to tie dinosaurs into in the park, and the idea is totally out of place. There are no rides, lands, shows, or Peanut's characters that connect and I doubt any sort of bridge was ever planned or thought out.
In a zoo, I can see it as an extension of the live animal exhibits. But unless Godzilla was invading an amusement park - it just doesn't work at Cedar Point.
