The park is mature in its state of development. It's quite likely that the Point will receive an occasional banner year investment, as we last saw with Maverick. But if you're expecting to see more than one or two of those a decade, I suspect you're going to be sorely disappointed. And any large new ride that comes in, you can almost certainly expect to see some other ride(s) be retired in the process.
Right on. You've also explained the "Cedar Point does not have a space problem" quite well too.
I also believe Project 2012 was moved to 2013 to make room for Dinosaurs alive. I think we all would bet that 2013 will most deffently be a coaster. I have to agree with them pushing back Project 2012 till 2013, 1. Because we might be able to set Mr. Ouimets theming put into it and 2. Alot of parks in the area are opening new coasters next year, just about all the Major Parks are so I think in a attention point of view, more people will be wanting to go to CP for their new coaster because most parks are opening their new coasters, this year.

Vince, from the sound of it Dippin' Dots isn't going away. This appears to be a restructuring bankruptcy only. The business is still a viable model.

As the ice cream of the future you'd think they would have had a little more foresight into what business decisions to make.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
I'm really hoping that this dinosaur thing is not a 7 year investment. I was wishfully hoping paddlewheel would make a return in 2013 or 2014 after this craze is over.

If it is true both that Project 2013 was originally slated to be Project 2012, and that Project 2013 is a coaster, would it be reasonable to assume there'll be evidence of construction on opening day? After all, construction on Maverick was started well over a year in advance of its opening.
Of course, there's the possibility that Project 2013 could be a smaller scale coaster installation, and may not require such a drawn out process.

Are there costs involved with maintaining the lagoons as a navigable waterway as compared with just a water feature/glorified drainage ditch? Dredging comes to mind, possibly compliance costs with the Corps of Engineers and Coast Guard.
Seems likely that the lagoons have seen their last guest passengers, ever.
Just say no to trims
its really sad to see paddlewheel go but im really excited to see what the area will look like next year for Dinosaurs Alive.

Nobody knows for sure if we're getting a coaster next year or if project 2012 is now 2013. There have been several rumors pointing to a B&M coaster in 2013 by the calypso and the cars area. Also, either John Hildenbrant or Kinzel hinted at coastermania this year that at next years coaster mania there will be a big announcement regarding roller coasters. This time I really do think 2013 will be the year for a big coaster

I've heard the rumor about a coaster going where Calypso and Cars are, but not a B&M. I think it would be silly to put 2 B&Ms so close to eachother. If a coaster is put in that area, hopefully they relocate Dodgems and Cedar Downs to make the footprint bigger :)
I personally wouldn't mind 2 B&Ms right next to each other, the GP wouldn't notice theyre from the same company.

Ya, couldn't agree more with the paddlewheel in 2013-14.. as with the dippin dots, i am in awe, it is usually busy..

I agree. I doubt the GP would notice, or care. And personally, I wouldn't care either. I love me some B&M's.
2010: Millennium Force & Mantis
2011: Raptor
2012: Raptor, Sky Ride and Wicked Twister
2013: Co-Team Leader of Sky Ride
2014: Supervisor of Slingshot/Skyscraper
I think that the GP would notice the similar track. It's a signature style of the company. I also feel like the space by turnpike cars is too small to have a regular B&M (sit down or floor-less) and they wouldn't[shouldn't] put an inverted right next to Raptor.
If it is a B&M, it's something we've never seen before. Which is why I'm leaning towards something new from S&S or (I hate to say it) an Intamin ZacSpin.
They call me Sheehan.
