Did you take any of the ESD trips offered?

I went to Kennywood and had a good time. The storm was unfortunate but it was a great oppurtunity to go and for me get some new coaster credits. I know this is a CP message board but Phantom's Revenge is awesome. I am glad ESD offers these. I had a car last season but have been up there without one and know how nice it is to get away for a day.

oh a i went to that trip...i had a great(to the expection of the bad weather and some rude ride ops). Phatom was great and i loved all the older rides were great. Have you gone to dorney.. that was fun i went in 2001...ya i been to many of the esp trips always a trip

I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and to Tower City (it was two places in one trip). The trip was really cool and well worth the $30 I paid to go. I loved the Hall of Fame; there were so many unusual things to see, like an exhibit of all different kinds of outfits worn by stars on the stage. The KISS clothes were unreal, and it's amazing how tiny the clothes for some of the female stars were (for example, the Spice Girls and Britney Spears). I would love to go on a trip to one of the other parks, but haven't had the chance to yet. I think I might do that this upcoming summer.

Let's see between the 2001 and 2002 seasons I took 2 Kennywood trips, 2 Kings Island trips, 1 Six Flags: Worlds Of Adventure trip and 1 Dorney Trip (which was my fav. totally worth the 10 drive and hour and a half sleep on the way there)

I went on the Kings Island Trip in June, and other than being throughly irritated by these 2 morons on our bus, I had fun. I only reccomend this kind of trip to people who don't have a car, or friends with a car, to go themselves though. We started the day at 7:30am or so at HR, and after a completely random McDonalds stop on Route 71, made it to PKI by 12:30. The bad part was that we had to be back on the bus by 7:15pm, so that we could make it back to CP by midnight. Luckilly, the park was pretty dead that day, and we made it on most of the rides that we wanted to ride, but it was very rushed!

Why would one got to PKI if you have CP? Thats kind of like buying your clothes at Dollar General (sorry Cal Turner) when you can afford Brooks Brothers. Why bother? I would rather spend my time drinking, coastering and chasing girls than riding on a school bus to a 2nd rate excuse for an amusement park!

For some people who might otherwise never have a chance to visit some parks, it's worth it. Last year without transportation, it was pretty nice to visit Dorney, Kennywood, and PKI. The folks at Dorney treated us like kings though. We got there and they had OJ and donuts for us, as well as some managers to chat with. Above and beyond what I expected.

Yes I will go to PKI if I get free tickets as I enjoy the tower. And the Beast is a MF of a ride! No way would I waste good $ when I could buy a 12er and enjoy the best park on the planet!

You know, if there's anything that I can't stand, it's people who believe that CP is the Be-all-and-end-all of amusement parks. To think that every other park is a "2nd rate excuse for an amusement park" is purely sad, because you're missing out on some rather great rides, and some rather good times. I went to SFWoA this summer, and had a great time, and I am a PKI season pass holder. It all depends on who you're with at the park. If all you do is stand around and b**** about operating policies, then you're really missing out on a good time. Just think about how spoiled you are to live in the Midwest in the summer, where there's even an OPTION to go to a different park. Tell that to people in Oklahoma, or Kansas, or even Iraq.

Remember, PKI was the one who reintroduced the industry to launched coasters. Without Flight of Fear, do you think that CP would be building what they're building right now? Without Superman: Ultimate Escape at SFWoA, do you think we would have seen Wicked Twister?

The parks even do ticket exchanges with one another. In 2002, PKI and CP had a ticket exchange, where PKI employees got free tickets to CP and employees at the Point could pick up free tickets to PKI. There was a limit on how many tickets you could get, but it was a cool benefit that is worth taking advantage of.

I went on all 3 trips to Kings Island and had a great time. I will go on the trips next season too!
Ha, the Dorney trip in 01 kicked some butt. It was neat to see how another Cedar Fair park operated. I don't know why they didn't offer one in 02 but hopefully they will again next season. I strongly recommend going even if they don't offer an ESD trip. You might as well since you get in free.

I agree Sam Dorney was an awesome trip to take and it makes me sad that there was not a rpeat trip this past season.

Got Momentum?

I have been to some of the PKS parks and to some of the Paramount parks and they dont hold a candle to FUN! Bias? Heck yes; as CP is close and it is the best on the planet
