Having ridden each of the Intamin Freefall installations in the U.S, I have to say that Demon Drop is unique in that it has always operated much more smoothly than the others. Going into the reverse drive on these rides is always a clunky and sometimes painful experience, but Cedar Point's always surprises me with how much more gently it makes it's way through that maneuver. I will miss it.

DD isn't so much of a unique ride, but it serves as a great classic thrill ride in the park.
When a ride is removed, rarly does the GP complain, since the ride being removed is old, junky, and not worth riding. (ei: Schwabinchin) CP has a much different situation here, DD is still is a ride that many families wouldn't dare miss when visiting CP. The GP still enjoys this ride and more than half of CP's guest will be sad to see this ride go anywhere.

Interesting, considering the park gets 3 million + visitors a year. I wouldn't call 600,000 a popular ride...

This is most unfortunate, considering Cedar Point's long history. It's a shame that history cannot be preserved somehow like Kennywood has done with their "Lost Kennywood" section.
Actually Cedar Point does have one of these during Halloweekends. It's called the 'Land of lost Thrills.' http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=369 They have every ride that was torn down or sold. We might see Demon Drop this year if someone buys it.
We might see it next year. Demon Drop goes up for sale in November, after the CP season.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Lost Kennywood is a section of actual running rides that were brought back into the park that were once very popular back in the day, and still are now.

About 20% of the people walking into the park riding one of the older thrill rides in the park isn't bad. TTD only took around 900,000 I guess they should think about selling that as well. And I'd consider TTD a popular ride.
