Death at CP

I was wondering if they have said anything new about this story like if a ride might have contibuted to her death here is the only story i got to read www.sanduskyregister.com/cgi-bin/LiveIQue.acgi$rec=42015?frontpage
VERY SAD
:( BUT I HIGHLY DOUBT IT
It wasn't ride related, she was waiting in line for Woodstock Express. Very sad though...

Sad and scary... she was only 28... This also shows how quick Cedar Point is: It took them about 15-20 mins. to get her from Camp Snoopy to local hospital.

It's unfortunate when someone dies, especially that young, but it's a little sickening that the Register even printed that story. What about the other people in town who died that day? The circumstances for them weren't any different, this woman just happened to be at the park. I feel bad that the press is calling the family for a comment.

Insensetive morons. Great small town journalism (not).

I think that this is good evidence to support regulation of queue lines.  Queue lines are dangerous and they must be reduced in length.  We need a law that would require that all queue line waits be less than five minutes.
O YEA PointMan. I can't wait to go your park. C'mon, be real!
Pointman:  You ever seen the queue line for the Woodstock Express?  Down and back.  Thats it.  How can it get any shorter?

Next trip to CP on August 25th - 26th!

Jr. Geminis queue line is longer than Woodstocks Express...;)

I would like to see more shade.  Woodstock Express is exposed to the sun all day.  I've waited in that line with my kids and have thought my head was going to blow off from the heat.  The solution was a hat.  I don't go to CP without a hat.  I'm not saying heat had anything to do with it.  It does seem weird that someone would be standing in line in Camp Snoopy and just fall over for no reason. Maybe heat, or a pre-existing condition.   Most likely not ride related.

Jeff-

anyone think that this could -remotely- be used as "Markey Food"?

I don't know.  On one hand, a little sensitivity would be nice. However, CP is high-profile in Sandusky, and in Ohio. If someone dies there, no matter what the circumstances, and there is no press at all about it, I think the reaction would be much worse. In addition, the woman was very young, which makes it more surprising and tragic. About the only good thing to note from this whole sad, sorry business is that the medical staff at CP appears to be second to none in their response and ability to transport a patient to Firelands.  Getting someone from Camp Snoopy to the ER at Firelands in 20 minutes is damn impressive, and well within the "golden hour" they talk about for heart attack survival.  I think we'll find that she had a pre-existing medical condition that almost guaranteed death, whether it happened at CP, or somewhere else.  My sympathies to the family and friends.

I'm with Jeff. It is sad, but it isn't news.
Like has been said before, the Woodstock Expresses line is very short, waits were never past the entrance and were at most 10 to 15 minutes.  The queue lines are short because it is a kid's ride and also there is only one train.  It also takes a while to get kids in and out of woodstock.  It is a very unfortunate event, but you really can't blame it on CP at all.
Can anyone say www.deathanddestruction.com?

It's very nice to see how quickly CP emergency crews reacted.  Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

It's nice to see my S3 (Super Shovel Special) is picking up popularity......

It's always unfortunate when anyone dies. It's even more so during the year of www.deathanddestruction.com/amusementparks/.

I don't think this will bring Markey. If it is, expect the comment to read:

"Look at Cedar Point. This park is so dangerous someone died IN LINE! Amusement Parks are evil! We must stop them!"

Will Markey please take my shovel and proceed to......Ok, family site. (No, I wouldn't have him it himself in the head, it would go somplace else)

And yes, it's sad when the newspaper decide to write about a death at an amusement park when we have homocides everyday that are much more diabolical then a cardiac arrest. I think the Register needs to remember who their friends are before saying ANYTHING negative about the place that makes 50% of the paper.

To all those who thought I was actually serious about this, I'm flattered.
