De-theming progress

According to a drive by report posted at www.zerognetwork.com/forums on the main page, stated that a multitude of boometown signs and theme materials is in the wildlife lot. Looks like things are getting started. I'd look for a website launch any day now.

Each day that passes and we don't see commercials or a website is killing CF. They want that site up just as bad as we do. I'm thinking it'll be up before Easter.
I ended up going, and I noticed that the work on boomtown has begun. The parking lot off of the old Geauga Lake Rd. has some stuff from Boomtown, but I didn't notice much at the South lot.

CPPD is at the park, and so is a manager from MiA. Looks like they will be working very hard the next couple of weeks, as there is much work left to be done.

The real question is, are the metal detectors still standing? :)

Each day that passes and we don't see commercials or a website is killing CF.

Because we all know people make thier decisions for vacations and family days out based on websites.

What time does the water show start?

You've got to remember Jeff..

They can't see it.. they can't touch it.. therefore it doesn't exsist..

Remember the WT supports. People had pictures of them and still accused people of using Photoshop on them.

As excited I am about the whole thing (I started this thread), even I am beginning to lose excitement. I think I am finally coming to the realization that it doesn't matter when things are announced, as much as it matters that the park has new owners, and there will be major improvements this year!

I guess I am just tired of waiting for news. The news will come when it comes. No need to over-obsess, like so many of us enthusiasts do, about one website and about news we know will come eventually.

I don't know, I'm afraid I'm one of the overobsessing enthusiasts. One site with all the answers to things we want to know. The answers to my homepark - how couldn't we be excited and overobsessed? This is the biggest move in a while for me. I'm content with checking that site daily and will be very excited the day that site goes up.
It isn't that I am not overexcited, it is just that I have come the the realization that I am. There is still two weeks until my orientation, and I have Constitutional Law to worry about until then.

One of the things I like about this site and Coasterbuzz is these sites are places I can obsess, along with others, about coasters and parks. But I, along with some other people on this site, need to find a life outside coasters. (Maybe it is my obsession with coasters, among other things, that keeps me from doing well with the ladies in the offseason).

Dont' take this personally but that made me laugh..

Just relates to how so often, enthusiasts events are meat markets. Not much unlike comic book and Star Trek conventions. hehehe

Ironic that I also participate in comics and gaming conventions, huh?

My friends sometimes ask "why is it that these hobbies tend to draw more men than women?" We think it has to do with the obsessive "collecting" nature. Speaking in general terms, men are packrats. For comics, games, music, and the like, the "collection" is clear enough. For coasters, it's a little more abstract, but the whole "track record" thing IS collecting, in a way.

Idle thoughts spurred by Rob's comment...

In a way Greg, that makes a person sound both really rich and at the same time, extremely insane. I was looking at your track record below after reading your post and was thinking I my head

"He has 69 Millennium Force's and 9 Dragsters.

I know I read your post wrong, but it was kind of humourous when I thought of it that way. :)

Well, I guess I can say, I have about 75 Millenniums, 9 Dragsters, about 150 Mine Rides, and about 900 Monster's. :) But that's not a coaster...

Now back with what you meant, I've collected other trips on other coasters. I just lost count.

Anyways, I'll get back on topic. I guess it looks like the park is being transformed now. If I find out in the meantime a CP ID can get me in the gate, I'll be there May 1st to check out the "new" park.

Meat markets for who? The sex ratio is about 20:1 in favor of males.

Oh... nevermind. I get it.

I heard from a boss that we wont have to ask for free CP tickets anymore, so I'm taking that to imply we will be able to get into CP for freem which I believe means you guys can come east for free.

So should I ask for a refund for my Cedar Point season pass?

In other news, I think tomorrow will be a big day, even if the site doesn't launch or a press release isn't issued. That is all I will say though, because I am not In the Know(tm), and don't want to get in trouble with the people who are.

It's that 20:1 in favor of males at coaster events that makes me glad I'm a frequent vistor of Put-In-Bay!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Actually, I think the press release stated that tomorrow was when they finally have the keys.
