The day trips are a lot of fun, and there is a lot of variety in what kinds of trips are offered: everything from trips to other amusement parks to baseball and soccer games and sites of local interest such as the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame. You do have to pay to go on the trip (it usually covers the cost of a seat on the motorcoach), but the prices are very reasonable and you can have the cost deducted from your paycheck.

I went to Kennywood in 2002 and 2003 and to Kings Island in 2003. They are a lot of fun but we really didn't get enough time at Kings Island but it was better than no Kings Island at all. Probably will drive there this year. If you sign up you need to go as you can get your money back. I would like to see different places offered this year. If they can go to Chicago they could go to Great America. Trips to Hersheypark, Dorney and Michigan's Adventure could be done as well.
