That's a neat website, I think I've seen it before.
I dare not bring up the Upside Down Funhouse or anything of that sort. My favorite when I was a kid, pretty obvious, but I figured there'd be a lot of liability perhaps. Maybe not.

Noah's Ark at Kennywood still has a few questionable moments. Lots of fun!!
I remember hitting my head in the slanted room in the Upside Down Fun house. Should of been more careful!!

I have a 14 and an 8 year old.Back in the day when those were the best rides that the world offered everyone was happy. We didn't know any better. In todays world that is an incredibly boring park. How many 8 year olds in todays world think that a skyride or railroad or space spiral (RIP) is fun?
I didn't catch this before but just had to respond to this! My 8 year old boy! He kept begging to ride the Sky Ride, it was closed most of the time due to winds. Also kept begging to ride the train, I think he loves Boneville already.
And his next pick? The Giant Ferris Wheel!
This is a very interesting thread and sounds very hopeful. I was re-reading Matt Oimet's comments and relating it to my spouse. My personal testimony is we felt CP had been basically transformed into a power park, loved it as young adults but we wouldn't take our young kids there. We took them to more family parks or the local kiddie park. No way were we going to spend the money required by CP to stand around watching them at Planet Snoopy. Only now that they're tall enough for us to ride some things together did we actually splurge and got season passes for us all.

If it is a dark ride, where the heck are they going to put it? No, I am not saying Cedar Point is running out of room, but I'm having a difficult time trying to guess where they can put a building in place without taking something else out.
Since the lagoons are no longer being used for PWE, they could fill the channel in along the old docks behind Dragster. The ride building could then be constructed on the new land. A dark ride building near Camp Snoopy would serve a Snoopy themed dark ride very well. Actually, a filled in lagoon area could be accessed all along Camp Snoopy if they wanted to go that route.
I'd prefer something to be done with the Blue Strak midway though. That area of the park really has a sad and neglected vibe to it. I'm not sure the old Pirate Ride building will be the park's obvious choice though, since the complex houses Boo Hill as well as offices and storage on it's backside.
Here's a silly idea: A shooting style dark ride where you blast muffleheads and Canadian soldiers to score points. Lol
Richie A.
A rollercoaster or tobbogan ride would take up alot of room. But the smurf ride at KI, Earthquake and Pirate Ride were on very small plots. In pretty small buildings. Thinking what people need in a gentle ride with plot or theming. something to relax on that children will enjoy, but different than the 3 car rides they have.
This is a crazy idea that would be extremely expensive. What if cedar point built a ride that simulated scuba diving or snorkeling. You would swim with real animals and/or animatronics. You would look at coral reefs and ship wrecks on the bottom of the ocean. The ride would basically be the ocean version of kilimanjaro safaris at animal kingdom. Any thoughts?
Maybe Cedar Point will follow the trend of expanding Planet Snoopy with a remodel or deconstruction of the Ball Room between Planet Snoopy and Kiddie Kingdom into a dark ride and then a conversion of Kiddie Kingdom into a bigger and better Planet Snoopy. I know the Ball Room is important so maybe they could incorporate new offices into the design and save some rooms for needed space. Just a concept!
This is completely my opinion and is not based on any factual proof or evidence, but I predict we will get a dark ride for 2014. I did sort of base this on what I've heard about Ouimet saying along with other various little pieces of information. Despite rumors that it will go in the Colisseum, I'd want it to go in the old Pirate Ride Building. And since 2014 is both Raptor's 20th and Blue Streak's 50th, adding a new ride in this area would make even more sense. Maybe this would be the beginning of the revitalization of this area of the park, with more to come in the following years. This is what I'd like to see happen.

Actually, I think it'd make more sense to house the dark ride in the Coliseum, provided the entrance is in the back. That would put it very near Planet Snoopy, and not far from Kiddy Kingdom.
I'd rather see the old Pirate Ride building demolished, if rumored plans to raze Cedars are indeed true. That would open up that area immensely.

The Pirate Ride and Earthquake ride buildings are still standing. There is also room behind the Coliseum where Chaos used to be. I dont think the ceiling in the Coliseum 1st floor are high enough for a dark ride, nor would they give up the revenue of the arcade games.... Also pelnty of room where the Coral Dining Room is currently (Do they use that building for anything?) I'd also like to see the Coliseum ballroom used for something, perhaps a Peanuts dinner show? Other than employee parties, do they use it for anything other than small conventions anymore?
The Coral Dining Room is still used for catered events I believe. I'd like to see the Coliseum remain a game room, plus all of the columns would probably make it somewhat challenging to install a dark ride in that space.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Anyone see anything yet? Any markings on the sidewalk or word of if we are getting a dark ride? I'm about 80% sure we are getting one next year because of all the hints we have gotten so far.
I think the only dark ride you will get a Cedar Point next year is a ride on the carousel with the lights off.
The only thing about the pirate ride building is that it is not empty, it houses the Park Services office and warehouse. They would have to put park services in a space that is big enough for that warehouse and moving it offsite would be a bad idea (imagine having to wait for toilet tissue to be brought in from across the mainly...YIKES). I think the ball room would be a great location. You can redo the outside while keeping its classic looks if the theme it around a haunted old ballroom, kinda haunted mansion like but with a ballroom theme.
The green train from Millennium landed under Magnum and that is what is causing Magnum to sink!!!

But the Lemon Chill guy told me he was 87.2% sure!

They should just use the old earthquake building. I know that it was in that building and the park can do without snoopy boutique. The park has enough gift shops and merch shops all over. That one is just all snoopy stuff, and candy. In fact they actually have plenty of snoopy stuff mixed in with the other shops.
I would not miss it, as I don't shop there. I've been in like, once. It would be a great spot for a dark ride, IMO. I guess CP just fills in buildings with merch when they run out of use for an older building. Same with pagoda next door....clothes, toys and candy.
I agree; DOWN WITH SNOOPY BOUTIQUE!!
I remember the day I went to ride the Earthquake and found Berenstain Bears Country there instead. A heartbreaking moment.
I was looking on Carowinds' site today and I noted they have a live show called Charlie Brown's Pirate Adventure. This would be an awesome name for a return of a pirate ride, and they could use Peanuts in it as well. Heres a pic of the logo
