Wow 6! I probably won't leave Windsor until then, maybe 5. That is, if I am able to make it Opening Day.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Try to make it, I'm bringing a treat for any fellow PointBuzzers who make it out.:)

Glad to see August isn't that high. I am going at the end of Aug. and I heard that crowds are low during that time. Perhaps someone can confirm this?

I want to go on Opening day just for the experience... but the crowds are scaring me off... How do the crowds on Opening Day compare to August crowds? I may just go the Monday after Opening day, I read that it is one of the best days.

Well the crowds will definatly be big because of Maverick....so it'll be far more crowded when compared to August.

I have found that the Fri. one week before labor day is a great time to go. I have gone on that date for the past three years and the crowds are a lot lighter.
As for opening day versus August it depends on if you are going in the begining of August or towards the end. The first week the park is open is usually pretty light during the work week but that may be subject to change due to the new ride.
Adam, where are you going to be camping out at opening morn? I wouldnt mind meeting up with you again, plus tasty treats are always a bounus. Maybe I will bring something scrumtulescent as well.

First off LOL at scrumtulescent!:)
And well the obvious choice is the SC gates since it's the closest(keep it a secret though;)). And the treats will be cupcakes of the tasty Maverick opening day variety. It wont be too hard finding me......since I'll be the only one there with treats and PointBuzz buttons if anyone wants them (that is if I get permission from Walt and or Jeff).:P
P.S.- Look for this too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v175/Dragster420/2.jpg *** Edited 1/28/2007 6:48:21 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

OK...beat being the 1st car in the parking lot and having the entire Traffic department awkwardly smile at you and thinking, "I thought I've seen everything..but you are insane!".
During my 2nd year tenure (I worked '94, '95, '96 & '97)...I persuaded my friend Jon into getting a job in Housing. So before we actually "lived" on Point, we drove up to the park for him to process in, etc. and get a general "feel" of "behind the scenes" while I gave him a tour.
That morning, on a weekday in early May, we were in the parking lot at about 6:45/7:00am. There obviously wasn't much to do...so thank goodness we had a picnic basket chock full o' goods from the IGA, along with jackets and hoodies...because it was &%$#@ cold!
2 hours of teeth chattering before we could go to HR, Housing, and then a day at a nearly empty park. The park was OURS for the day which "was" pretty awesome.
To this day, much to my friends chagrin...I like to be "close" to the 1st car in the parking lot and start my day out early. (Unless of course I do Starlite Hours and then its nice to work a half day and head out to the Lake or take a nice leisurely country drive along the Lake Erie Circle Tour.)
