CP's Bonus Program

I have seen several of you talking about this as well as on CP's offical site. How does their bonus program work and what exactly do you do to fulfill your "agreement?" Is it basically a commitment date (I will work from May 1-Aug 21) sorta thing or are the dates set by the park. I am just curious seeing as how I am interested in working there next summer. Thanks!
Basically, when you fill out an application, you write down the dates in which you are available to work. When you call to interview, they will confirm the dates with you. The longer you can work the better, but getting a job does not hinge on you being available the whole season. So, after you interview, if you get offered a job, they will mail you a contract out and on it will be the dates you agreed to be your available dates. Work from the start date until the end date, and you have earned your bonus. If you need ANY days off during the summer, and you know it before you interview, make sure it is on your contract. Also, at the bottom of each paycheck it will tally up how much bonus you have accumulated.

Shawn

For the past two years the bonus has been $1 for every hour you work. So if you work 65 hours in a week, $65 gets added to your bonus.

Thanks for responding guys. Shawn, when you say that if you need any days off to make sure its on your contract, what if something comes up, and you want to take a day off, do they is that taken out of, or do you loose your bounus. Or if you find people to cover your shift are you good? Thanks again.
It depends on what department you work for and what their system is how extra days off requests will be handled. (You are guaranteed at least one day off per week, which may or may not be a permanent day depending on where you work). Basically, if you put what days you definitely want off in your contract (like if you and your family have been planning a week-long vacation and you know what days you are going), you are guaranteed to get them off; that's the advantage of contracting them off.

If you just ask for them later, you may or may not get them off, just as in any other job. In my experience, the earlier you ask for something off makes it easier to be granted that day (like several weeks to even a month in advance).

During the season, you won't lose your bonus if you are granted a day off that you have asked for (no matter if it's in your contract or not) since you were given permission to take it off.
