Name: Ryan
D.O.B.: 5/28/75
How much do you love road trips?: Adore them :)
Have you ever been to Cedar Point?: waaay too many times...I worked there for 4 years and then moved to Sandusky during the off season.
Current residence: west Toledo, Ohio
Distance from Sandusky, Ohio: approximately 1 hour..(54 miles or so)
Mode of Transportation: 2000 white Ford Focus
Rte 2 or Turnpike?: turnpike.....but if the weather is nice and I'm going for Starlite hours...than Rte 163 along the Lake through Port Clinton, etc. :)
How Much Money Should You Take To Be Comfortable?: Enough for a full tank of gas, admission and parking for the park, about $30 or so for food and drink, and then extra if you want to play games, buy souveneirs, taffy, etc.
Things to Pack in Your Car for Road Trip: gasoline, sunglasses, suntan lotion, money, wallet, first aid kit, tire jack, air pump, cooler packed with food, magazines, cell phone, games, CDs, blanket, pillow, etc.
Favorite CD's to Listen To: any Dance mix CD, TV tunes compilation, fun stuff like that that people can sing along to and laugh :)
Favorite Road Trip Food: Snapple or Arizona iced teas, fruit juices, cheese and sausage tray, Wheat Thins, Veggie Thins.
Any Final Stops Before You "Really" Leave?: My friends and I usually leave VERY early and get breakfast beforehand. It's usually a pack of bagels and cream cheese from Panera or something that will fill us up. Fast food is way too greasy and we usually get upset stomachs. An all you can eat breakfast buffet is usually smart too ala Ponderosa or Hometown Buffet....then we fill up the tank with gas and go on our merry way!
Favorite Stops Along The Way: rest areas 'cuz I pee a lot. Bonus points if they have a Cinnabon or Starbucks.
Favorite Sites in Sandusky Besides Cedar Point: Tofts ice cream factory...mmmm!!
Have You Ever Worked At Cedar Point?: for 4 years yes...first as a Housing Supervisor at Cedars Dorms and Hotel Breakers...and then as shut up..."Papa Bear" at Bear Country
Favorite Cedar Point Memories: WAY too many to type. Umm..most special I guess is when I was so incredibly in the closet and a boy I liked..grabbed me..kissed me and said "There..does that prove anything?". I cried and he held me and said that it was ok to feel that way. Awww!!!
Favorite Cedar Point Food: dude..seriously..need I say? Of course...the french fries!!!
Favorite Cedar Point Restaurant: The now defunct Boathouse
Favorite Cedar Point Rides: Raptor and White Water Landing
Favorite Cedar Point Attractions: Centennial Theater and Lusty Lil's.
Have You Ever Stayed at a Cedar Point Resort Hotel?: No,..but worked at Hotel Breakers front desk.
Funniest or Scariest Urban Legend You've Heard About the Park: Supposedly this one room at Breakers is haunted because a girl hung herself there in the '60's. People would unexplainably check out in the middle of the night and say "You wouldn't even believe me if I told you". Well when I cross-trained in Housekeeping..we had to go in that room..you definitely felt the presence. We all got quiet and tears were running down our face. Lights went on and off and something that we put on one side of the room moved later. Ive never been more freaked out!
Worst Memory of Cedar Point: My roommate and I (both in supervisory positions @ Cedars) were being gay-bashed and our boss said "Maybe if you found religion you wouldn't have this curse" and refused to stop the problem.
Most Embarassing Memory of Cedar Point: My old roommate and I used to walk around the park and drink lime vodka out of sippy cups...we went to visit our co-workers who were in "Rockin' Round The Point" at the Centennial Theater and I musta been totally trashed. The strobe lights made me want to vomit and the dancing made me dizzy...and on stage I could hear them saying (now keep in mind this is a 1950's revue that takes place at a soda shop)...."mm..have you tried that new lime milkshake? Ryan says that it's neat-o" and "Has anyone seen that no-good fink, Ryan?" and assorted ad-libs that we caught on videotape. They would make it a point to sing directly to me and stuff and all I could do was laugh. The stage manager saw me afterwards and gave me the nastiest looks!
Favorite Childhood Memory of Cedar Point: winning a stuffed turtle at the Birthday Game....I felt like the coolest kid on the block!
Ideal People to Go to Cedar Point With: people who have a lot of patience and can make good, witty conversation with you while you're waiting in the long lines. People who are willing to do anything including going to see the shows, and run like little children to hug Snoopy.
Things You Wish Cedar Point Would Improve: a stronger focus on the beach and the park's historical past.
Things You Wish Cedar Point Would Have?: more "theming" in their rides, queue lines, uniforms, etc....ala Disney.
Things You Wish Cedar Point Would Remove?: besides the white trash guests and the parking fee?
Perfect Cedar Point Ride Idea: Hmm..I'd just have to go with something tame. C'mon...I miss the "Pirate Ride"!!
Perfect Cedar Point Attraction Idea: well to begin with, get rid of the pre-recorded music in the shows and use REAL bands like you used to!!
Perfect Cedar Point Merchandise Idea: DVD/computer disc with virtual tour of the park, screensavers, pop-up video style history of the park, vintage commercials/promos/music used over the years on TV and "in" the park.
Perfect Cedar Point Marketing Scheme: too many questions thrown at me at once. Aaargh! There's so many! I do think that they focus on the "thrills" so much, that they may forget the crowd who enjoys the milder rides, attractions and live shows.
Perfect Cedar Point Hospitality Scheme: lower the prices (another $5? LOL) and add more theming!
By 3pm, What Have You Done at Cedar Point?: Ridden maybe "1/2" the rides, seen a show and ate lunch and drink a beer or have a picnic on the beach, got a pretty good sunburn going, and need to sit down!
By 10pm, What Have You Done at Cedar Point?: See above PLUS have blisters on my feet, ate very small dinner, getting my place for the laser light show, and then heading home!

Worst Memory of Cedar Point: when i was walking down the midway and just lit a cig and an employee comes up and asked me if he could bum one. I was shocked that the"amazing cedar point" would have employees that would do this.
Most Embarassing Memory of Cedar Point: I was wearing VERY destroyed jeans and i was getting out of a ride and they snagged on something and tore my entire back pocket off leaving my underwear for everyone to see. To this day i always bring a change of clothes, just in case.
Favorite Childhood Memory of Cedar Point: Getting off of shipwreck falls and just being frozen.
Ideal People to Go to Cedar Point With: Geauga Lake people because they're very relaxed with what to do, I've gone up before and only ridden 2 or 3 rides just because we were having so much fun doing other stuff.
