CP noob with dumb questions

Hey all! So a friend and I (guy and girl, early 20s) are looking to head out to Cedar Point for 2-3 days late this August. We're Disney geeks and this is the first time we're headed to a non-local non-Disney park. This means we need help =)

First off, is 2-3 days enough for JUST Cedar Point?

Also, we're looking to do this as cheap as possible, so does anyone have any hotel recommendations? I've got my eye set on America's Best Value Inn in Sandusky (http://www.sanduskyhotels.com/value-inn-sandusky.html) but my main question is if there are any hotels with a shuttle to Cedar Point? I'd really prefer not to rent a car on this trip as neither of us is 25 and it would be ridiculously expensive, and plus I just hate driving on vacation. I read on tripadvisor.com that a Holiday Inn Express has a shuttle, but it was an oldish review and I'm not sure if that's still true.
I've found a town car service to pick us up from the airport and get us to the hotel, but if I have to rent a car, I will. I'll just need to steal my other friend's GPS before we go haha.

Umm... I guess that's it for now... Thanks!

Look into a package at Breakers Express. It's the cheapest
resort hotel. It's pretty reasonable, plus your package will
include your tickets to the park plus a few other perks,
including entry to the park an hour before the public. I don't
know what you're looking to spend, but the packages at BE
aren't too bad.

There are some hotels that do have a shuttle to the park. The bus stops at all the different hotels and stops at Cedar Point. The bus takes some time to get to the park, and the schedule is not very reliable. I do not think Breakers Express is on Cedar points bus route. I would recomend staying on property. You do not have to pay the parking fee and you get early admission to the park. Hotel Breakers has some inexpensive rooms, which are small, but have what you need. Two to three days should be good, but you may want to look into Soak City also. I would recomend the ride and slide ticket. It includes both parks for 2 days. You can get a starlight pass for the evening of your first day. Call 1-800-bestfun to get Cedar Point Getaway Guide that has lots of information and has discount coupons for use at the resorts and inside the park.

Alright! I thought I was the only Disney Dweeb loitering here....
2-3 days is more than enough. CP is a lot different than anything Disney...not much theming, but a lot of fast rides.

But I also love Snoopy.

CP is a 2-3 day park, 2 days if you have really small wait times on all the rides. By the end of day 3 you will be ready to leave.

I've done a three day trip once, but during Halloweekends so Friday was only half. If you're going to do to a 3 day trip during the regular season I think your best bet is ride and slide. Three straight days with just CP may be overwhelming. Having the option of going to relax at Soak City will make the days more enjoyable.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

In 2 days you can ride everything at least once providing it is up and running. By 3 days you can get numerous re-rides in and a visit to Soak City in as well.

In 1 day you can even ride everything....

I just went for two days and I really wish I had an extra day or two to relax more and perhaps go the water park or enjoy the beach and pool. This is actually a very pretty area as well, so I would've liked to have enjoyed it more but I had to rush, rush, rush to the rides. I felt like 9am-10pm just wasn't enough time. That's how good this park is. CP should stay open later more regularly.

i will be staying at camper village for 10 days around the 4th of july. i got platinum passes already!!!! but i will be doing more in sandusky than just cp and soak city.

I'm guessing the "more" won't include summer school, or Remedial English will it?

Goodbye MrScott

John

that would have been funnier if it were directed towards someone else lol.
