CP needs to break these woodie records!!!!

Here are TWO woodie records that I feel CP can easily break WITHOUT breaking the height and length records! The world's steepest woodie which can be achieved at 62 degrees or steeper AN the mosst TOTAL airtime of any woodie which Shivering Timbers has somethin like 30 seconds of airtime! So CP shoul either build a 145-150 foot out and back with a 62-65 degree drop! If they can make Magnum so thrilling why NOT have a compareable woodie like Shivering Timbers which was often described as a wooden Magnum?? Janice Withdrew(formerly Lifke)(sp)(Is that her name?) several years back said that Mean Streak was design for the family instead of the enthusaist like the Texas Giant was designed but Shivering Timbers is much more rerideable for the GP than the Texas Giant was in its original forn even though I loved both rides(Giant & ST)! SO I hope they would build a true world class rerideable woodie FULLY LOADED with airtime or would CP be afraid to do that??
Don't hate me for saying this, but I don't want any woodies. Steel coasters are the new age, they should have one of those weird (don't know what you call them) X type coasters, or a launched, Cedar Point has no launching coaster. Also, a woodie takes up more room, and Cedar Point doesn't have "Mean Streak kind of room" anymore. Millennium Force is squeezed in because it is a steel. But that's just my opinion.

Mean Streak count-1
Blue Streak count-2
Woodies don't have to take up a lot of space.... look at Blue Streak.... also, look at Cornball Express @ Indiana Beach, they are building a woodie there, where there looked like there was no room (It looks pretty good too!). CP can put just about anything they want in...
There was a rumor a while back that didn't sounded pretty do-able. The rumor was that the coaster would be a wooden twister that would be the most tunneled coaster ever. I think this would be very cool. Especially if Cedar Point takes advantage of the "L" in the front of the park. It could be similar to Ghostrider, which would make it awesome, and there could be a lot of tunnels.
I've never been on a really good woodie so I think this would be a great idea!! I am so jealous of all you people who have ridden Shivering Timbers too!!

Anyone who says woodies aren't as good as steel coasters has never been on a good woody...

Anyone who thinks it's a steel world hasn't been on a CCI or GCI.

if I could pick any 2 coasters to have in my backyard, they would be shivering timbers & MF.
so id have to say cp needs good wood.
it took me an hour to find shivering timbers last summer due to the road construction having all the amusement park signs taken down, so I was hoping it would be great.

if I used spell check on this post, this signature will not have any misspellings!!!!
And it(Shivering Timbers) is GREAT! The GREATEST structure ever built!!!!!!
what pink floyd fanatic said.
I think that Jeff is right, CCI and GCI build thrilling, rideable, and fun wooden coasters. And again, CP HAS ENOUGH LAND. Something like Shivering Timbers could be built along the parking lot and lake if they wanted to. CP could use a new wooden coaster. However, learn from the Mean Streak, Rattler, Hercules, and SOB. Too high WILL result in too rough a ride, unhappy patrons, and outrageous maintenance costs. The ONLY large wooden coaster I have ridden that is rideable is the American Eagle at SFGAmerica in Chicago. While the ride in general is pretty boring, it is not rough. Let CCI work their magic, and the GP AND enthusiasts will all be happy.
It is, indeed, a ride and a half. WHOEVER, I didn't have any trouble finding it. Good ol' MapQuest took us right from my front door to Shivering Timbers itself. (I can't tell you how far my jaw dropped when I finally saw that thing in person after a 10-hour drive. Dear God.)

Personally, I think that Shivering Timbers looks ugly from the photos I've seen. But the ride looks awesome. I've never been on a CCI or a CGI--unless they were involved in SOB. The only really good woodies I've ever been on were at PKI--The Beast and SOB.
Well, I sort of see what you mean. Its general appearance might not be the best of any coaster, but it's just breathtaking. You know, that sheer, "Wow, look at that..."

I agree... it doe look a little ugly, put I think it is the cement pool around teh whole thing. Instead of having regular footers, isn't it w bunch of connected cement?
CP will do it right to fit in w/ the area. They have yet to fail us and I doubt they will start anytime in the near future!!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
If they were to tear down MS, would CP gain any money from the wood used? At least with a steel coaster you make some money back due to all that steel. But what are the chances, if at all, that CP would do such a thing since MS doesn't get the ridership that a coaster that size should? I'm sure they could build an equally massive structure in that same spot...maybe even a record breaker for steepness, airtime, and for the kicker...legnth. How come because they put so much money into a ride like MS mean they can't tear it down? If it were 30 years old and the ridership was down, they probably would. But the fact is ridership is down now...even if you devided the total number of Gemini riders by 2 MS would still be lower...and its only been 10 years since it was built. Actually, it went down as soon as it didn't become a coaster, but a whiplash-bearing monster. A good CCI or GCI (why not both??) are a must...why not CCI try and re-create the MS with a taller hill, and a steeper drop? I'm down with that. ;)

Unfortutanly for you, I don't think you vistied the point In Mean Streaks hayday. Over the years, Mean Streak has gone downhill (with a bunch of trim's in the way ;) ). In it's early years, (I'd say 91-93, but that's my opinion) it was not only big and beautiful, it was the bomb.

Although ridership has dropped, it's still up there among the 10 most popular rides and the GP will ride anything that's big. One reason may be that's it all the way in the back of the park, and in the morning, and late at night no-one is ever back there. Another reason why it went down is becuase of other attraction's built after that. I think it's safe to say that MS isn't going anywhere soon.

Since the wood has been already been cut, drilled, warped, and weathered it pretty much has no value except on the Mean Streak itself. For us, it is a shame they don't at least look like they are trying to "fix" it and as of now, I too would rather see a good CCI or GCI on that spot.

(Mike- The fact that you know exactly how many feet of coaster track you have been on is REAL freaky :) )

In July and August, the wait for MS is 1-1 1/2 hours, so what are you talking about low ridership?
I've been on 162,293 feet (30.73 miles) of coaster track. Mean Streak is a great ride, what do you mean tear it down?
