CP Memorabilia

I have a 125 years commemorative ticket, some Banshee stuff, and a flag somewhere in the house. I could have had an old turnpike car body but I didn't have anywhere to keep it and the wife didn't want it in the living room. Women!
I like to collect the souvenir maps and the stuffed animals for the major rides. That way I can hang my on ride photos on them. I usually got a few for each one, depending how my picture comes out. but I am going to buy one everytime I ride Top Thrill Dragster this year. That way I can count and date whenever I've been on the ride.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

Chief, being a woman, wife and mother, I understand your wife's concern completely! In fact, the reason I don't have as much memorabilia as I'd like is because I have no where to put it.

I only collect pins now, and have finally decided what to do with them besides hide them in a box. I'm going to make scrapbooks for each park with pictures and pins from the coasters, stats, memories and trip reports.

Although if I ever got a chance to pick up a carousel horse, I might have to do some rethinking.

Storage has become an issue at our house too. We have gone to pressed pennies and christmas ornaments as our main souvenirs from trips to parks, etc. At least we can use the ornaments once a year, though we max out two trees each year. The pennies are easy to store.
I can't say what my favorite piece is, but I have collected some unusual things in the past.

e.g.-Little things from our hotel room in the Breakers (soapbars, shampoo/conditioner bottles, a pad of paper with its pen, a plastic bag, a hotel map, our bill, plastic cups) a couple of parking permits, even a packet of sugar from the Midway Market.

I have lots of things I got my mits on that are not "standard" collectibles like maps and pins.

I would have to say that my favorite piece of CP memorabilia is my Magnum T-shirt from 2000 that I was inspired to purchase after taking the final ride of the day in the front seat of Magnum. Since then, my wardrobe has come to consist mainly of CP shirts. I also collect ride patches, keychains, color changing pencils, snow globes and cups. I've been known to take items as odd as Breakers parking passes and room keys, too.

---A Disaster Transport patch on the ride operator's uniform is on my most wanted list, if anyone knows how to get one.

I'm a CP geek with an appreciation of all things gaming: Game Boy, Pac-Man, and the Breakers' Hotel Arcade.

Oh, yeah...Christmas Ornaments...I have some of those too, including the Lion mascot from MiA.
