I find it difficult to imagine that Cedar Fair bigwigs contemplate spending millions of dollars of investor's money on the basis of maintaining a record number of roller coasters. While coasters are obviously a big draw, and any amusement park would enjoy the promotional possibilites inherent in having the most roller coasters on earth, it just doesn't seem like it is that high a priority to the company. Adding Camp Snoopy, or Lighthouse Point, or a new fountain, may not allow them to keep a particular record, but such additions enhance the overall Cedar Point experience, encouraging guests to stay longer and spend more money. Which, after all, is what it's all about to Cedar Fair.
