CP Fast Lane vs Six Flags Flash Pass

Hi! I need to choose between Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America in July 2013. I want maximum action on roller coasters, and the price is not an issue. I'm traveling all the way from Norway in Europe, and this day must be the best ever!

3 years ago I visited another Six Flags park and bought a Platinum Flash Pass. This allowed me to stand "virtually" in lane with an electronic device, cut the lanes with 90% and ride 2 consecutive times. A great experience, and I could walk from ride to ride without waiting time.

If I choose Cedar Point This summer and by a fast lane pas, how will this be? Does the FL really cut the lines on a busy day in July? Or does this mean 30 minutes waiting instead of 2 hours? Will I be able to ride all the 15 big rides in 6-8 hours with the fast lane pass?

Please no advices on Six Flags vs Cedar Point rides, I will decide the park to visit based on waiting time and how many rides I can get in one day! Thank you for your help!

I took my 9yr old daughter to CP last summer in the first week of August on a Wednesday. We bought the fast pass. It allowed us no wait or very little wait (less than 5 minutes) on every ride we wanted except one. The line for the Millennium Force was marked at 2 1/2 hours and we waited 15-20 minutes. With that exception we basically "Walked on" all day long. We were able to ride every ride she was tall enough for (she was 48+") as often as she wanted. While we didn't do it, there was plenty of time in that day to have ridden MF multiple times even with the 20 minute wait.

We went back in October for Halloweekends and did not buy the pass as we spent most of our time in the haunts and didn't mind the lines when we had them.

Next year I intend to purchase the FastPass again for at least one trip as I want to spend some quality time on Gatekeeper. You might consider coming over for "Coaster Mania" (June 7) if Coaster riding is your priority. Plenty of early and late ride time on that day.

Almost all of the Fast Lane rides at Cedar Point reduced wait times to 10 minutes or less. The only exceptions are Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick. Those rides would make the riders wait a little longer. Millennium Force for example had a 30 minute wait time posted on the sign for Fastlane when the standby queue was 2 hours. Last year, Cedar Point had no rules on marathoning the rides. There has been rumors of the park using a bar-code system (or even Lo-Q according the Screamscape) that would limit the marathoning.

In my opinion, if you're looking strictly at the line cutting systems, Six Flags has a vastly superior system. But the downside to that is you're in a Six Flags park. :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Last time I got a FL I rode Millennium Force 24 times in one day, while still riding about every other ride in the park multiple times.

Top 5 Coasters #1 Millennium Force #2 Intimidator (Carowinds) #3 Top Thrill Dragster #4 The Beast #5 X2

Coasters I want to ride: #1 El Toro #2 Leviathan #3 The Voyager #4 I305 #5 Behemoth

We had Fast Lane last season, on a Friday we were able to get in 70 coaster rides, if that helps you at all.
