Does anyone have any Idea on how the schedules are worked out? How many hours on average per week will I work...(i am working in rides) thanks for any input!!
Scedules are posted weekly where you go to clock in for work. If I'm not mistaken I think rides work more hours then some departments. Your one day off a week is usually differnt each week. Don't be suprised if you get switched around to differnt rides throughout the summer. I'm guessing you could work 50-60 hours a week. Then agian that's just a hunch.
I'm not a rides person..but from observation...start times for ride ops are either 9 or 9:30 AM, 11:30 or 1:30 PM. My schedule is done by my team leader and posted in our barn....don't know how the rides are done. Jake is right..50-60 hours..sometimes more. (not for me though!)

At least last year, schedules were not posted where we clocked in for rides. They were for merch and games (I don't know about foods) but not for rides. Your Team Leader will have your schedule and the shifts last year were as follows:
O - C (open to close)
11:30 - C
11:30 - 8:00
1:30 - C
O - 6:00
0 - 8:00
That was on regular days. On days when we closed at midnight they looked like this if I remember correctly:
O - C (terrible!)
noon - C (bad too!)
noon - 9:00
2 - C
O - 7
O - 9
Open, for a ride operator, is usually between 9 and 9:30 although I worked at Troika/Chaos and Mine Ride last year, so my rides weren't exactly that tough to get started. The hours you get per week will usually vary according to staffing. If you have a lot of O - C shifts, you may get well over 60 hours. If it's balanced well count on 45-60. You get one day off per week, and if your Team Leader allows it, it can be the same day every week.
Coming in late is bad, leaving early is bad. Anyone who does that consistently will get the shaft in hours, so it's important to be punctual and ready to work your shift.
I hope I've helped at least a little, if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

For Foods, your schedule will most likely be posted in your location. THe supervisors, Area Supervisors, and Area Managers all approve them before they are posted. In Foods, last year anyway, we didn't clock in. Unit Sups and crew members were paid by time sheets filled out by unit sups each day. This was helpful because employees had to be at their location at their scheduled time, not clocking in at Cedars or Merch. etc.

Natalie covered most of the details. But there is one shift that got forgotton. The split shift. When working a split you open and close but get a 4 hour break inbetween. Also, you may get off earlier than planned if you have a good TL(Team Leader). If this happens than you might be working hard hours the next day, or you might be working regular hours. It all depends on your TL or whoever is in charge.

O ya, I forgot about splits. I hate splits. lol You get screwed over in breaks and have to be there for both open and close without all the hours. It's a wicked nasty retarded idea.

I loved splits. My first year I chose splits as my master schedule.. spent every afternoon sleeping on the beach... and when extra help was needed I could o/c.. but, mostly I wanted to sleep on the beach!!guess it just depends on what you like. So, Natalie.. does that mean you want splits every day :) I can just change the line schedule... Really... It's no problem... How about Saturdays off while we are at it??
Sheesh Jenn, if I knew you were offering Saturdays off...I would have been first in line for ES! ;)
Let's see. I worked 894 hours this last summer over 77 days that I actually worked which comes out to around 11.6 hours a day or so. Most foods shifts are 9-6 or open-6 then there is the mid which could be a 11-8 or 12-9. And there is the closing shift. usually a 12-cl early or a 2-cl or 3-cl in july and august. and how could I forget splits. Am I right Jenn?

What do the schedules for waitresses look like? I'll be working at Macaroni's this summer, and was wondering if we'll be on any sort of "split shift"?
