CP Employee Reunion - Labor Day Weekend...

Anyone going to this? I got the email about it the other day. Looks like it might actually be fun....

I'd go if I were closer, but, I'm not making the trip from Texas!

Yeah, I figured out it would not be feasible from S. Dakota. If they would of given more than a month's notice then I might of been able to do it. I will have to attend the next one. :(

It's kind of a nice idea, minus the $13.95 for the bbq chicken.... That is a bit excessive.

Signed up for this but not 100% will attend. Not so much the price of food and stuff, more the distance and how many days going on. If I do go will have to pick one day.

I would LOVE to see some old ride crew members! Especially from '02-we rocked- I adored that whole crew!! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I got this email too, but I'm living out in Cali now and I won't be on the east coast until the weekend after that, so I can't go. I will probably go to CP 2 weeks from then, though. Too bad.

I'm going! I never went to CP in May like we did every year, so I need a good excuse to drag myself in there. I bought a house, so I hadn't had time to think about any CP trips, but this one caught my attention. Ride on!

Im planning on going...

I wonder if Louies will open it's doors to us once again?

I am signed up to go along with my hubby who worked there...It is a little bit excessive for the BBQ , but the admission price is nice .

I am planning on going but not sure, though I sure wish there was more advanced notice. I'm sure attendance may not be that great for this reunion due to the sudden announcement. Hopefully they come up with better plans for next year.

Would love to see days a list online with names and days they plan on attending as opposed to the day I arrive. I would hate to go on a day I know no one.

So hey if you know me let me know when and if you are going.

Just your usual come and go poster. One week I am here, then I disappear for a while.

I agree with the short notice... however I am definitely planning on going. Especially with ERT on both Maverick and MF... if there is low attendance, all the better for me :)

Over in meetings & gatherings there is a "roll call " thread.

My wife & I are are going. Alumni 93-97. It would be great to see some of the Raptor Crew 94 guys. We were the ORIGINAL Raptor boys & still the best. I still have the operating manual (#2), and a copy of the training video..with John Riggleman as narrator!

You know it is sad when you can still rattle off the spiel without even thinking about it after 14 years!

I'm excited about this. I think it's a great idea.

Most of y'all are pretty recent -- I'm an old timer. Not being rich, however, I'm not crazy about the $230/night price at Breakers. And yes, that's their discounted price for us.

I've got a smoking room booked for Thurs/Fri/Sat. It has two queen-sized beds. Allegedly, the room sleeps 5.

I want to stay at Breakers for the nostalgia value, but mostly for safety. Also, I have trouble with migraines, and it would be fabulous to be able to go lie down for just a few minutes, if need be.

But I plan to enjoy myself. A lot. Hence the safety factor. C'mon -- one roomie would be good, but 2 would be better.
Let's combine forces and have a fabulous time!

I didn't find the "discounted" prices to be very discounted at all... So I went ahead and booked a cabin at the Maples Motel. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean, and its only 45 bucks a night.

Hopefully some others from 2004 or 2002 will show up for the reunion, but I'm not holding my breath.

Where's Maples Motel? Love those rates!

But will an old-timer like me find it reasonably sanitary?

Hey -- we could get adjoining rooms & have more fun after the Saturday night shindig in the Grand Ballroom.

I will be making an apperance both Saturday and Sunday.

^The Maples is on Cleveland Rd a few miles east of Cedar Point. Decent price but beware the train tracks across the street. Trains constantly are going through all night long.

Indeed... the trains can be very loud. I recommend earplugs, or noise canceling headphones :-)

Wow. Maples is only $45 a night? That's a really good deal!

Well... it is for their cabins... which have no A/C... but with the weather forecast this weekend, I'm not too concerned :-D

Had it not been Labor Day weekend, I would have gone, I'm unfortunately going to be in PA on business, hopefully they do it next year! I haven't been back since 2003
