CP and Arrow

Arrow Dynamics has a prototype of a new type of coaster, I found a site with the pics and a video. Since Cedar Fair has a long history with arrow, what do you think the possibilitys of getting one of these are.

IMO it looks pretty cool, not sure exactly what the ride is (other than the obvious) but we should know after the IAAPA show. It's name is the "4th dimention" prototype.

Cedar Point doesn't go for prototrypes. It is kinda of a risky investment if it hasn't been tested somewhere else. I think that is what the other CF parks are for LOL! They are giant testing grounds for CP!

Cedar Fair does have a long history with Arrow... one that seemingly ended ten years ago.

It looks like a verticle rollercoaster. look at the wide base and big wheels.

"look at all the gum on the wall"
That's what I was thinking Jeff...
Hello people! Didn't any of you see what I saw? The seats freaken spin while there moving!! There are 2 seats on each side of the track. Sorry if I sound exited, its, because I am!!!!:):):):):):):):):)(:)

Feel the Force!
I might just be really odd, but that looks sweet! That IS pretty clever how they make the seats spin. I'd love to see one of those built!

There's been some long conversations about this on rec.roller-coaster and CoasterBuzz alike. In all honesty, as soon as I saw the videos, I thought to myslef, "I wonder when somebody on CP Place will start a topic along the lines of 'When will CP install one of these?'"

Hmm... About 23 hours.

Correction, Jeff...

Cedar Fair's last purchase from Arrow was in 1998 (I think that's right...) when they bought a Mouse for Valleyfair!. Before that, the two Shoot-The-Chute rides were either 1991 or 1992, I forget which...

Wasn't the Millennium Force with it's "elevator lift" a prototype investment that was never actually tested prior in other parks? I say bring on a new coaster!

Is that actually Arrow, or is that a working model of Setpoint's Seizmic? It doesn't look exactly the same as the Seizmic sketches, but the concept is similar...

Coasterguy2000, your right they do spin. That's very cool ! I have lots of questions about that design ? The track looks pretty complex. Can't wait to see a final product.
GregLeg1, it is Arrow, the pics and the vid were pulled off of Arrows FTP server. When I saw that the cars spun, I almost fliped out, it would be sooooooo cool. Gee, thanks for the sarcasm Jeff.

This is how I figure it. If Cedar Point would ever get one of this freaky things the earliest we would see it at the point would be 2006. I'd bet Cedar Point has started looking into a coaster for 2002 so there is no chance of one of these things for 2002. Let's say that the first one of these will be built in 2003. by then Cedar Point will have picked a coaster for 2004. If the ride is wild success then I'd say the Point would look into it for 2006. This is all based on the a coster or major ride every two years.

...but not a coaster.
First off I don't see this concept working to well. I can't see this thing going very fast you would get so disoriented. Second its arrow track that is still designed bad. Now don't don't get me wrong I like arrow and this new prototype but I don't see it happening. Remember they still haven't sold an arrowbatic yet and that was to be they're new claim to fame. Ever since Toomer left they haven't done anything worth mentioning. Arrow has one thing going for it and it's called Magnum XL 200.
Augh. Dear Lord. Are we going to ring around the "Magnum Is Arrow's Only Good Accomplishment Tree" again? Please, let's not.

I know I'm treading on thin ice when I mess with the precious Magnum, but honestly.

Let me clear something up... Your not spinning upsidedown during the whole ride, just on certain part like on Exterminator.

(I'm not being picky here, and I completely follow what you're saying...

but you don't go upside-down on Exterminator ;))
