Valravn was announced and pieces are starting to go vertical, so why not talk about CP's 2017 plans? I've heard an interesting rumor (not from one of Coaster Studios' "sources") that the coleseum would be converted into half dark ride and half arcade. Most likely a Triotech shooting dark ride with some coaster element in it. I've also heard a much less possible rumor of a launched RMC woodie interacting with Millennium Force on the island because the dinos' liscence ends after 2016.

So your source is every single person on pointbuzz?

No, half screamscape, half TPR forums

My point is that it's hypocritical to say your sources aren't unreliable even though they're just the same rumors that we've known about.

It's way too early to talk about this, but I would like to point out that since Valravn is coaster #18, all the park would have to do is build a triotech with a coaster portion #19, and they would be all set up to get #20 in 2020. 20 in 2020 would be a very cool marketing campaign.

I don't understand why a number of people think they need to convert an existing building to build a dark ride. When a dark ride comes in, it would make more sense to put it in a new, purpose built building that can properly accommodate the ride. The Coliseum would be an especially poor choice because of all the vertical columns.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Exactly, Pete. It would be possible to put a dark ride in the Coliseum, sure. But having to build around those columns would force the layout into a static grid, and the columns would hamper the space available to install the ride elements.
Millennium Island would be a good place for a custom built dark ride building, though I expect the dinosaurs aren't going to go anywhere as long as they make money.

There are several events that most people do not realize occur in the ballroom. For example, park-op on-boarding and training are in the ballroom in the spring. Park-op and live-e also have offices on the second floor. Additionally almost the whole ballroom space is used for screamsters to get their makeup and costumes on.

Which, as I've said elsewhere, is a shame. It's a beautiful space.
But I can see how it would be a difficult space to sell even if it were ADA compliant.
Oddball fact: in the early years of the last century, Cedar Point bottled its own soda pop with machinery installed in a room in the Coliseum.
