I almost decided to do a similar idea for my senior project in film school. I decided to not use the idea for numerous reasons and go for a music video. A few suggestions my prof gave me was film, film, film, and more film. The more film the better chance you have for the perfect shot (ie, angle, shot direction, and most important lighting.)
His other suggestion was making a story board. Try to think of exactly what you want to include and then attempt to get the shots. A similar technique was used to film Truth or Dare.
I would also not use The Dark Side of The Moon in a video. There have been way to many references drawn between the record and the Wizard of Oz. I can think of at least five articles written by crazy film prof. over analyzing the references between the record and the film.
My last idea is be positive. Making videos is certainly not easy, and not being in control of the situation is even more difficult. Good luck and certainly have some fun.
If you happen to run into some problems, I could offer some advice and perhaps even a little help. Or I could put in you in contact with some individuals who could be more able to help you then I.

I was watching a show on cable last night (might have been on PBS, not sure) about NFL Films, and how they do things. I know absolutely nothing about making films and such, but the best advice I can pass on after watching that show is in music selection. Decide what kind of mood you want to set for the scene, and select music that really goes along with the scene, and gives off the vibe you're looking for. I know it sounds obvious, but I never realized how the music really affects you when you watch one of those NFL Films until seeing this show last night. I'd say take a look at one of their films to really see it. A good mix of music from rock to classical, I think, would really make it interesting.

Only film is expensive. Use video. :)
