Am I the only one watching these and thinking:

"Well, one of two things happened, either this was a year with poor turnout at auditions, or this is where Live E was forced to pinch its budget."

2 good performers, but...only 2. Maybe they took the concept of CMT's show "Can You Duet" a little too far.

I saw the show on opening day and thought it was very good. Are you judging it from the videos or have you seen the show live at the Red Garter? It's always better live in my opinion.

I saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty good. I didn't like the Carrie Underwood song in there, but the rest was good. It's also their first week.

It's all a bit awkward and I agree, the Underwood song should be removed. Not because it's a bad song but because she can't sing it.

I am not a country fan at all and I did see the show because the red garter show is always my favorite. I love the talent but I could really care less for the songs. I wish they would bring the rock back. I mean last years Monster show was out of control good. The garter was slammed every show... I know a lot of people like country I am just not one of those people and will probably sit out of a lot more shows this season then in the past. I guess there is always halloweekends to look forward to...hopefully.

My previous comment wasn't meant to be against the performers in any way. It was more an impression of the show's creative team's (producers/creators i.e.: Live E management) choices. I'm just curious as to why they chose to take what has historically been a 6 singer venue and change it into a 2 singer venue.

I saw the show Monday at 3 and 6. I thought it was a good show. With the crowd being small, the 6:00 show had a tiny crowd. It started with about 5 people sitting, and 2 entered later.

I like the Carrie Underwood song in there. Being a non-country fan, it's one of the only songs I know out of the whole show. :)

Monsters Rock is the best show the park puts on all year. I wish they would just do it all season long.

I have it on good accord that the change to the smaller group was budget-driven.

The show is good, but I miss the larger group. I was also surprised by the change to "country only." I thought the mix worked well in the past.

I like pancakes.

Does anyone know Jim Lyons? I can't believe there is a South Floridian Cedar Point connection that I wasn't aware of.

Actually isn't King's Island show produced by an outside company. I know that many of the Cedar Fair shows are, the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head that are made by the parks themselves are Cedar Point and Knott's.

I went on Memorial Day and absolutely loved it. The song I like the most was working for a living by Garth Brooks and Huey. The guys that were singing it did a good job.

Oh yeah, I also find it interesting that they had to change some of the lyrics to Life in the Fast Lane (as they did for the P!nk song in Monsters Rock! '07) but not the Kid Rock song :)

Just saw the show this past weekend. I did not like it at all. Wrong group of performers for this type of music. This group would be awsome with classic rock!

Just came across this thread while doing a search. I laughed out loud after reading above post! After watching the Nights of Darkness show with the same band about 15 times, the DID do better job with the rock!

The country show was decent but the 2 times I saw it live, it was so loud I couldn't hear the vocals. But the HalloWeekends show was a different story!

I am hoping the rumors are wrong about Cedar Point doing away with the Live band next year. I think it would be a big mistake! No matter what the music is, country or rock, it is nice to have a place to sit down at a table, where you can eat, drink and enjoy a live band.
