I just can't imagine an amusement park with valet parking. I can't imagine the look on a valet's face if I were to hand them the keys to my car LOL
Paisley, that was the first time I've ever done valet parking; anywhere! I felt like I was supposed to tip them, but didn't know who to tip? It did feel weird because usually I only hand my keys to mechanics when they're fixing my car lol.
Sounds okay to me as long as they don't have 20 staff outside running/parking cars and then cry about lack of staffing on attractions in the park.

Lol...what a dumb question. Who is this doofus who created this thread?

Don't know about attendance, but it could increase revenue
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
Keep in mind, Holiday World is factoring in parking fees and soda fees in the ticket. Charge $100 a head for one day at Cedar Point and add free parking and drinks - folks will lose their heads at the cost. Charge the current rate but then have them pay for everything else as the add-ons and they are fine with it.
Today posted prices were:
Parking $20
Preferred $30
Valet $40
Brian,Favorite flat: MaxAirFavorite coaster: Millennium Force
Before anyone spouts off how $40 valet is bull$&@? Or anything else, remember it might be outrageous to you, but totally worth it to others. Just be happy the park has found additional revenue streams with premium services that if you don't like, you don't use.
This will in the end add to CF bottom line and additional improvements at the park that will benefit all.

Although I will not allow anyone other than family members and my mechanic to drive my car, I can see this as being a premium service that some people will pay for. This does leave one question, do season pass holders pay the $40, or do they subtract off the $20 parking fee?
Great question !
Platinum discount on valet would be yet another pass perk.

I could never see me using this but I imagine there will be some people that will be happy to pay for not wandering the parking lot in search of their vehicle. I normally drive a very unique car but we just bought a minivan to use for traveling farther distances. I drove the van to the park what I guess is now technically yesterday and for the first time in years I felt a sense of panic about where I parked because for the first time in a long time I was driving something that looked the same as what everyone else drives. A beige Town and Country holy crap I'm going to lose this thing everywhere. I guess I need to keep driving the car to the park so I can find it without the valet ;)
If I am paying 40 bucks for valet, I would like a carpool style lane to get out of the park faster on busy nights.

They seem to have changed the way they send everyone out. In the past I've been able to go from Perimeter Rd. to Cedar Point Rd and yesterday after the park closed they wouldn't allow it. They actually had all the orange cones lined up so that it wasn't possible to let anyone go left and it wasn't possible to change lanes because of the cones until well into the causeway. Just thought I'd mention it in case it matters to anyone. Next time I park by Soak City I may consider moving the car after we eat.
^ That's not a bad idea there Paisley. If you leave for any reason and then come back to the main parking lot or Soak City lot, you're likely to find up close parking spots. I've come back and moved my car on busy days.
Where do they park your car? Certainly they are not parking it in some random spot in the lot. Is there a dedicated section where they park the valet vehicles?
I saw them drive my car over to the Gatekeeper lot. Or in other words, prefered parking. When I came back, they had my car running like I mentioned before.
I know this seems weird posting after myself, but I thought of something off the wall today. What IF, Cedar Point did a promotion where they lowered their admission from $65 at the gate to $50? Maybe throw in something like this deal only works If you bring a friend or something.
By reports of recent sec filings CF is on track for another record year, why run deals that counter what is already helping them break prior records.
More people is not what's necessary to bring in more revenue. Offering people more incentives to spend their money is what is working for CF, and this trend seems to be expanding.
The ultra low budget/ low prices failed for six flags and is not a good business model to follow. Bringing in more people with little or no disposable income does nothing to help the bottom line.

True. I don't have anything to counter your argument with. The reason I thought of that is because lately on Social media, people have been posting how slow the park is right now, and it's July! Cedar Point should be crowded left and right, right now! Okay, here's another idea, have food specials in the park like you did last month with the Rib specials for a certain price! Maybe after a certain time, certain foods are half off like they do at local restaurants.
Orlando parks also reported very slow 4th of July weekends, Disney was reportedly as slow as a slow weekday with little wait times.
There are extenuating economic factors and where holidays fall in the week that affect attendance at theme parks especially around major holidays.
CF is doing well to avoid relying solely on attendance as major revenue increases. The park has sold out at the resorts and lighthouse point.
